Is an Elven Katana a shortsword, or a longsword? The info didn't specify either way.

A katana is long blade.

I find http://www.tesguides.com/tes2/index.htm site much better for Daggerfall info than UESP.

After a few successful run-ins since equipping it, I was assuming the same. Thank you. I had been using a Steel Dai-Katana, but with the Elven I can now equip a shield, with only a couple of points less per hit, but with a higher minimum hit, I feel it will balance out much better. Especially with the shield equipped.

There are two types of katanas: Katana and Dai-Katana. The Katana is a one handed long blade while the Dai-Katana is a two handed long blade. The material of the weapon (Steel, Elven, etc) doesn't actually have anything to do with whether or not it's one or two handed, only the weapon's quality.

Incidentally, I do have another question. How do you access your wagon? Do you have to be outside of a city?


edit: H E Y ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! When leaving the dungeon I got "trapped" into, I accessed my wagon, I put just about ALL of my stuff into it. While trying to figure out how to access my stuff, I reloaded the last save before I left the dungeon, went back to the exit to access the wagon, and IT IS EMPTY. WTF?!

Sorry, from your post I assumed you thought the fact that it was "Elven" made it one-handed. Just trying to help.

I apologize for my crassness, it is a weakness of mine Scampers. It gets me into trouble with family too, from time to time. I have an abhorrence for wasted time, even time wasted by others, and tend to lash out.

Either apologize or don't. Make up your mind.
And asking us whether a katana is long or short is really nothing but wasting our time as well. You can find out these things using clever devices such as google.

I find UESP is best for Morrowind and Oblivion but the quest walkthroughs are quite good
