Man, Woman or It?

Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:07 am

Will play women characters pretty much exclusively, though argonian and khajit are my favorites. As for relationships... Don't actually plan to pursue any actually. My characters are generally loners looking for adventure, not relationships. If they manage to actually produce a quality level of conversation and story revolving around a romanceable figure then maybe. However, I am not going to have a relationship just because they said three sentences to me. Its going to have to be somewhat believeable and well developed for me to waste time on it.

The Argonian vote is a bit weird. You can normally tell which is wich by very simple logic, and never in any of TES games was that a problem. You just hating on Argonians...the world never changes.

Lol we all know that the female vote bar, in reality, is higher than the male one. Just look at the mods for Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas, The Witcher and Dragon Age for proof.

But yeah, I'm gonna play as both genders; male and female, to see the differences in-game (if there are any).

Because everyone knows that vampire assassins = good, but vampire assassins in same six relationships = bad. btw I mean no offense

Anyways I usually always play as a male, but in a recent playthrough of Fallout 3, I played as a woman (of a different race as well) and found it strangely interesting seeing how different NPCs reacted to me. So I might play as a lady on my second or third playing of Skyrim.

Yeah, I usually play men too, but I played a girl in New Vegas, and it was fun. Not to mention, I could make her short due to console commands... <.< I have a thing for short girls...

But anyways, avoiding my preference in women, I really don't like same six relationships only out of religion, and that I feel it slows the progression of the human race. Without children, humans will cease to exist. And with abortions on the rise, now it is even hard to adopt. I can't imagine two dudes, and would never be able to roleplay it without being mildly disgusted. No offense to gay people, but that is just is nasty for me.

I will most likely be playing only male characters. Maybe I'll try a female character after a few male play-throughs, I'm not sure. As for romance/marriage, he will only be interested in other males.

Right now in New Vegas i'm playing a young girl named Penny who is addicted to Med-X and spends all her money on it. I'm super poor and living on the streets of Free Side. I have bad eye sight, easily broken bones and low strength. She's a flawed character and I like to get in her head.

This made me a little sad, especially since I never used drugs so I always had upwards of 50 of each drug at one time, and just sold them to random people when I needed the caps :sadvaultboy:

Er, it was mentioned in the original post.
Sure, I may have been too honest about it, and it may be rude to just say it, but I was saying my opinion to the post which started this forum. Maybe it is rude, but I said it because that was my feelings on a topic which was brought up by the creator of this thread. I don't feel its inappropriate.

This raises the question in my head: is it okay for guys to role play female characters, and for girls to role play male characters? I would say yes, but then wouldn't that require (if you intended to get married) to think against your heterosixual inclination?

What I'm alluding to is this: if its in a video game its make believe so its not really harming anyone or going against a belief system to explore that. I mean if you're a guy and you want your main character to be a lisbian then where is the harm in that? Or even if your male character played for the same team. In terms of increasing the population in a video game... well that doesn't have anything to do with our survival. So, if you don't want to do that because it makes you uncomfortable then don't go there in the game.

I roll female characters because of the different flavors of dialogue not because I want to be a woman and if I take a liking to a man or woman in game then so be it. I don't care.

I am female, so I'll have a female char for more "identifying" roleplaying, I always did :) Don't know about marriages yet, but if I can make her a Vampire I will.
I'm although planing to make a male char - my longest playtrough in Oblivion was with one. He'll probably be married, divorced, widowed, married again, and occasionally cheating on his wife with other males and than being confused why she is angry - he sad she is the only woman in his life did he not? :D Oh, and I am so modding in a pair of skin tight leather pants for him! :D

Fascinating. Honestly. They could make a movie out of your gameplay. Whats the lure of role playing a promiscuous man? From the sound of it your female character seems to be more moralistic by your description than the male.

I want to be an ice vampire... but that would mean forsaking children. Raising a family doesn't appeal to me but I might want to see what its like in game and then pay them to go away so I can continue to adventure without worrying about whether I left them enough of my hard won coin to survive on between visits.

I'll probably play a female most the time, I like to do it because I know that the industry will give me many times where I will play a male with no choice.

Well my female char is a mage, and way older than she looks (several hundred years at leas). She is more interested in power and beneficial tactical position in society where she can "direct without rilling". She is intelligent, reserved, purposeful and when needed manipulative, and actually engages in direct battles only when she has no other options left. She is different form me, but I can understand and often approve of her choices - it is a role, but one I play from my own "mindset"

The male character on the other hand is highly chaotic - he allows me to do everything that my female char never would - either because she is to smart, to controlled and reserved or because of how logical she is. Since I don't identify that much with the male chars making chaotic and sometimes illogical choices does not cause so much discord for me, so I can experience all the content and fun I miss in the other playtrough - I get him in to all kinds of trouble and see how it works out, and if the villagers do the smart thing and chase him out with pitchforks this time around :D
And I have to admit some eye candy is welcome - I like attractive man, so when I get my hands on one I fully control I delight in playing dress ups with him :D

Male as usual, don't understand women enough to RP them haha.

All you have to do is perpetually make no sense. Its quite simple really :)

I'll play a male character first. Proably a female second. It's cool to go back and see the contextual differences between the two genders. If they do in fact differ.
