I'm male and I like to picture myself as my PC... therefore I normally only play male characters.

I'm a guy playing as a Girl, probably on all playthroughs, I just prefer playing as female characters.

When I can relate to my character, I'm more creative. I'm a man, playing a man. It's easier for me to truly capture the essence of a man than it is a woman. lol, Truly though- only women understand women... Men just get lucky sometimes.

Haha. Very true :P

I also like to relate to my character, though I think I shall relish the challenge of a male character. I don't think you guys should be that hard to work out.

Wake, Hack, Slash, Eat, Bed wife, Sleep? Am I close? :whistling:

I am sometimes reluctant to play a female character, obviously because I am male. In my mind, I don't want to misrepresent females. But when I stop over-anolyzing the situation, I realize the myriad of possibilities extended to me as a woman. Plus, we can now marry. So, I can play a female character and marry another female. Awesome! But I will mainly play male characters because I can relate to them more. I am still thinking of playing a female Altmer warrior for my third playthrough, though.

Woman playing a woman. I like to play a version of myself (Nazis of Skyrim beware!) but sometimes I like to start new games with different characters for fun or to experiment, like specialising, going evil or in one case I created a male Orc called Mike Hammer, that I was going to have charging into battle all the time and not bothering with sneak, magic or collecting loot to sell quite so much (I didn't get very far with him though). I do love games where you can personalise your character and try out different types.

I usually play male characters, doesn't feel right to play a female character in any game. (Too me, at least)

On my first playthrough I'll be a man playing a man, on my second playthrough I'll be a man playing a woman and on my third playthrough I'll be a woman playing a man.

I'll see your (pretty accurate) male stereotype, and raise you a man playing as a woman who buys lots of shoes.

So, I'm curious as to who is playing Skyrim, and what they are playing as in their first, second and thirds playthroughs.

:tes:

Edit: Added second and third playthrough options.

*flounces* I, sir, am not a woman, I am a lady.

More seriously, I'm a woman who will play as a woman the first time and many times after that, as well as having several men under my belt.
... That sounds more wrong than what I mean.

Man playing as man in first two playthroughs and voted for playing as woman in third because I occasionally might play as a woman.

I am male, first playthrough will use a female character.

Don't know yet about 2nd or 3rd playthroughs, depends upon gender-specific content, social situations in-game, aesthetic details of artwork & voices, etc. For prior TES games the gender breakdown of my characters was approximately:
Daggerfall: 98% female
Morrowind: 70% female
Oblivion: 100% female

edit: actually, given the stuff about in-game marriage they've been mentioning I could go for a male character on the 1st or 2nd playthrough

I'm a woman, will play a female character on my first couple of playthroughs, then will probably mix it up with a male one.

I'm another woman who only plays female characters. I may experiment with a male in Skyrim.
