First off Protectrons and turret/spotlights always count as the same "team" in an area, regardless of their target settings.



So I hacked a Protectron, sneak into a room to hack the turrets. Dogmeat runs in and bites the turret while im hacking the console. When I back out of the computer the turret being bit is now allied, causing the green name Protectron to attack dogmeat. This causes dogmeats name to turn red and have him endlessly follow around growling and uninteractive.

Sounds like your dog has contracted rabies from rogue circuitry.

Best so the honourable thing. Take the ol boy round back put two in the skull.

Sounds like a game breaking bug you got there have you tried switching the companion? Just make sure to save the one before this all happened so you can undo it that way.

I reloaded, no point in doing anything else

Sounds pretty hilarious actually, having a nearly immortal hostile companion following you around gnawing on your leg

on one of the endings i did for platinum (I think it was BoS) I went in and was murdering everyone in the institute, and instead of following the quest markers i went into the room where X-88 hangs out, since i was killing everyone in the institute he was of course hostile, thing is he was still flagged as essential and thus couldn't be killed. so he starts attacking me, i put him down and everyone else in the room, leave the room and he stands up and follows me out. stats shooting me again. I turn and put him down again, he gets up and keeps doing it.

I had to reload and stay away from the room because the immortal assassin synth chasing me
