[WIP] My Mansion

Post » Sun Mar 13, 2011 4:58 pm

This is my first mod and it is currently the bane of my existence. What I thought would be a quick house mod (instead of the vault) quickly became much larger than anticipated. I've been working on this every free chance I've had for the last 6 months (about 5 months and 3 weeks longer than I expected). I'm trying to knock it out so I can get back to actually playing FO3. I have tons of mods to try and I want to install FOSE and see what that can do, but I end up putting it off because I have a hard time keeping it all organized and so much can go wrong while developing.

I still have a few things to tweak, but there mostly cosmetic. My apologies for not being around to bug test more, I've had my hands completely full in the bug squashing department.

I put it on the nexus last night. Just trying to make sure every thing's kosher before my dusty save game starts relying on it.

Well it looks incredible. My only problem with it is that it's a bit large to be a player home alone. Any chance of major updates (Some NPCs, for example) in the future?

I'll be sure to give this a download and play around with it for a bit.

56 women roaming around in it isn't enough for you? If you look in the features section, it is the 2nd feature listed :P

@ Ez0n3 - I am going to have to check this out, thank you for sharing :)

Wow, that is massive. Love the look of the exterior as well.
Will be downloading tomorrow for sure.

edit: Downloaded, playing currently:
This is what Tenpenny Tower should have looked like. Really liking it so far, though too big for my current character to use as a home, I'm sure I'll use it more eventually, more like a hotel/getaway.

I had a little look around the mod. It is huge but well laid out and fun. The author has obviously invested a lot of time and effort into this mod. There is more to the mod than initially meets the eye. This wont be everyone's cup of tea, but for the sheer scale of it, it is definitely worth your time spent there.

OMG! Just reading the description on the Nexus has made me WANT this mod :)
I don't care if its role-play friendly or not, a Mansion where you have guards patrolling for YOU, and an armory and...just WOW!!!

I'll let you know what I think as soon as its finished downloading and I've gotten a chance to play it :)

Thanks.

Yes, you're not alone in mentioning it could use more npc's, a few people mentioned it in the comments :). I bet - initially, that's the last thing they thought they would ask for ;). Just worried about having to many on screen, I think 30 is the max? If you start a fight with all the NPC's (ie: they're all chasing you), it wouldn't be a good idea. They sleep, eat and stuff - so it might just seem bare at that time of day - maybe.

Ya, it's not for everyone - for the most part. I mean, if a big mansion is too much, you can live in outside, or in a cave, or even in the sewers - lol. If Dukov's or Oasis made you go "yuk!" or "ewww", you'll absolutely hate this place.

Hopefully there's no problems.

Enjoy.

Just noticed this. Perhaps, just trying to get the core finalized. I had a thing roughed out where raiders would invade every now and then. But I yanked it because I want to start using the house. That kind of stuff can be added through plugins at my (or someone else's) leisure.

LOVE IT :)

I'm currently putting all the lovely ladies into Chinese Jumpsuits (as I like the military feel...plus I have a mod that turns these into black uniforms)
AWESOME :)

I haven't had time to fully explore the place yet, but it already looks amazing

Edit: I has one question though...
Can you actually use the Vertibird in the complex, or will I keep getting told "not now"

Thanks

No, the vertibird doesn't do anything yet. I have it in there for when/if I do another worldspace, I can get to it using that vertibird. Once a new area is added, an option will appear "take me to..." instead of "not now".

I've added a 2nd landing pad for people with callable vertibird mods per request. Fixed a few things and what not (ghouls in the sewer were too strong). Might add a few more NPC's (maybe some male), dunno yet. Should be just about done.

Only one problem I just found.
The Jefferson Statue isn't solid. I can walk right through it...But I'm guessing this can be easily fixed :)
