i've been using crossbows a ton lately and both firing and buttstroking feel great. my only real problem is how you automatically reload after you fire - it's incredibly inconvenient to not be able to interrupt the reload to smash an advancing warrior or wolf in the face.

is there an easy way to make it either so you reload BEFORE you fire, like with a standard bow, or preferably have it in stages similar to manual bolting in Red Orchestra 2? alternatively, a way to cancel the automatic reload when striking an enemy with the crossbow?
