So...... Many....... Games..........

Post » Fri Feb 28, 2014 1:05 am

I'm a pretty new PC gamer, my laptop turned a year old this month, so the backlog of games I can play is utterly mind boggling. That's not what this topic is about however, it's about how many games I've already picked up over the last year.

Steam: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jjeftkrb0lyh4oo/Steam%20Games.png

GoG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/84fj44t9qfp009e/GoG%20Games.png

GMG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/znt979ypahdz75k/Capsule%20Games.png

It's ridiculous really, especially considering how many I've actually played. How many of your games do you actually get around to playing?

I own more physical games than digital in general.

As for owning on PC games, I think I'm ahead on digital games with 34.

All my physical copies, PS1, PS2, N64, Gameboy to 3DS, GameCube, SEGA Megadrive, and PC is in the region of about 400-500

300+ physical, a lot of collector's, I don't care so much about digital.

What happened to "1,000 to 8,999"?

"Over 9000" is tongue in cheek, but the option is there for people who have 1000+ games. I could make the poll more accurately reflect that, but then the joke is lost.

Right now, my physical games still outnumber digital downloads. I had a shopping spree at GOG.com awhile back and upped my digital downloads significantly.

I still have my CDs for MANY old games like Doom, Doom II, Quake, SimCity, Master of Magic, Diablo I & II, even Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. As long as I keep hold of all those old CDs, I think it will be awhile before my digital games overtake my physical copies

Usually, if I can get a physical copy of a game, I'll choose that option.

[EDIT]

I think have between 200-299 games, though I have not counted. (I think I am scared to know the answer :) )

Probably still more physical than digital but with these humble bundles and steam sales I'm sure that will change eventually

Yeah, several years of Steam sales and a couple Humble Bundles, and my digital games finally got past my physical games. At least, physical games that I still have the physical remains of - I've been playing computer games for 30 years now, I'm pretty sure I've had more physical ones, but I didn't bother keeping (for example) most of the Apple II games anymore.

Not sure about totals, though. I'll have to go count the physical games. Steam library says...... 62 games. Of course, some of those were physical ones that activated in Steam. (And there's a few digital games that didn't go through Steam. Like Minecraft & Cubeworld. And my 2-3 Origin games.)

-----

Okay, did a quick runthrough of my shelves. Looks like I've got:

PS2 - 19 physical, 0 digital

PS3 - 9 physical, 7 digital (PS+ is making this rise )

Mac - 21 physical, 11 digital

PC - 26 physical, 61 digital

-------------------------------

Total - 75 phys, 78 digital

Probably off by a couple here and there (between counting expansions as "games" or not - like boxed sets for WoW expansions), and picking whether a multiplatform game is a Mac or PC game (it's all about which platform I actually played it on), etc. And who knows if all of those will still run (some of those Mac discs may be from pre-Intel system hardware & software. Still have the discs though.)

Oh, and I didn't count the stuff floating around on my iPad. All digital, obviously.

I probably have about 25 or so games, mostly digital. I've never really been too much into playing a bunch of different games. I used to pretty much exclusively play Eve Online and that was the extent of my PC gaming. After I quit playing that due to school I started to buy a variety of single player games. Things that I can do whenever with little consequence to quitting randomly. Still, I try to limit myself and it helps that my "gaming rig" is a laptop with a 500GB harddrive and only 100GB of it devoted to the windows partition.

More digital pc games than physical.... I wonder how bad that loss would have been if it was the opposite

Have a bunch of PS2,PS3, 3DS,DS,NES,Genesis,PSP... Not sure if my PSX games work anymore.

I prefer physical but I apparently have more digital...19 games (13 digital, one of them non-Steam digital--6 Physical).

I did have the physical copies of GuildWars and all the expansions but lost them on a move, luckily the client is free to download for situations like that :D

I'll rather not find out...

I know that I have 25 Ps2 games though!

I still have my copy of the Original Sim City, the collector's edition, plus several other random PC games thrown around the room. Through the years I have lost/sold several games. I remember when my Black and White disc exploded while inside my computer.

I do believe I have more Digitial copies though, according to my computer I have 80 gigs of GoG games installed. :D

I have no clue, I remember putting it in the drive to install it, then heard an ear-shattering BOOM.

I'm pretty balanced between digital and physical on my PS4, Vita and 360 as for my PC I only have Morrowind for it and I rarely play it.

Ah, yes too many games. I have 99 or so games on steam, and only Skyrim has a physical copy.

I do find that being digital is handy, but the internet in my country isn't too great.

That's insane. You should never game beyond your means!

I owned around 30 Xbox 360 titles from the Mass Effect series to Forza and Halo. I don't think I've ever bought a game without finishing another one, though...Unless that game turned out to be unenjoyable or something that was more of a game and less of a story (Forza for example).

Because of monthly bandwidth caps with really steep overage prices (in January I paid an extra 40$ for downloading the TESO beta) I tend to shy away from digital downloads on my PC. If i'm good on bandwidth i'll treat myself to a game that has to be under 10GB. But nothing has really interested me recently.

Same thing happened to my second Monkey Island 4 disc. There was a tiny crack on it when I opened the case though, I guess it grew rapidly while spinning in the drive.

Heh, now I will be paranoid anytime I want to play Morrowind or Oblivion  (the only 2 games I have that require the disc).

I also forgot to mention that I have 2 physical games for the 3DS and a few physical for the Wii as the others are just old Sonic/Mario games from the VC.
