Maormer, Sload and Imga races?

Post » Thu Oct 14, 2010 2:23 pm

Anyone belive that any of these races will be included? It would sure be nice. Maybe even as playable races? I do believe that some of these should make some sort of appearance in Skyrim, if just as a monster, like orcs used to be

It's possible that we'll see them but I wouldn't bet on it.. We know there won't be any new playable races though.

They say the Sloads are in Black Marsh, but I'm not sure Skyrim is the right climate for them. Of course, even in Black Marsh, they stick to the outside near the ocean.

Yupp. But it would be cool to see some sload or other races hiding in caverns and places like the Reiklings in Bloodmoon.

oh no, im not saying they are FROM black marsh, but if i remember right, there was a reference to Sload Necromancers somewhere. Necromancy is hard in Black Marsh because of the rapid decay and they made a note in lore about the Sloads operating successfully.

Not going to happen. Which I'm perfectly okay with.

I think all those are great races that many newer players would lie to see as well.
I know I do having only heared of most through books or lore.

That said all of them are too far away to be likely in Skyrim.
The Sload maybe not, as being great magicians and keen on self interests may have call to pop up every so often in strange places.

Out of the three, the Maormer are the most likely to either actually appear(not playable) or be referenced seeing as how they are sea-farers and a lot of Skyrim's cities are on the sea

I'd say the Imga are more likely, since they are actually located on Tamriel. If TES:V was set in the Summerset Isles then the chances of seeing Maormer would be more likely.

Edit: But personally.

If it was in Valenwood, it would be 100% =p
but ya, they seem like creatures more accustomed to temperate climate instead of the frozen wastes. The oceans would even be cold there :x so I don't know how the others would respond.

I would love all of those races, there are more interesting races than the 10 playable ones, so it would be a pitty if they would always just stick to those in future games.

But these wouldn't make any sense in Skyrim.

I'd like to see the Sload, but I don't think it'd really be fitting in Skyrim.

Wishful thinking on my part but id love to see like an international conference of some sort where dignitaries from each race/nation would appear if only to see them. Granted its a convoluted way to get to see more races and probably would've been more fitting to see during the oblivion crises at the imperial palace.

I just think its strange that the only non playable race character on the whole continent of Tamriel that we can see is Yagrum Bagarn.

I mean are there no curious scholars from the sea elves ? From Akavir ? Or is everyone of these places citizens dedicated to total war and would simply look at you screech and attack where you to come into contact with them ? :cookie:

I'm sure they could dream up a reason where we see at least one or two other races that we've never seen before, maybe a member of the greybeards ?

At least work in a way to see the last of the snow elves - Its is Skyrim after all.

I don't think any of these are really appropriate for Skyrim, and only Maormer and possibly Imga would be good for playable races.
