I'm sorry to tell you this bro but the map editor is a PC exclusive.
If you want map editor on your PS3, I suggest you buy Far Cry 2, but its editor is very limited. But the game isn't that good either because it was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and not Crytek. So this means the game has been developed by French speaking Canadians. First Far Cry was the vision of 3 Turkish brothers, and we all know that Turkisch developers make way better games than French speaking Canadian developers. That's the reason why Far Cry 2 svcks and Far Cry 1 ROCKS! Ubisoft even admits that their game svcks at the very beginning by saying:
? 2008 Ubisoft Entertainment. All Rights Reserved. Far Cry?, Ubisoft and the Ubisoft logo are trademarks of Ubisoft Entertainment in the US and/or other countries. Based on Crytek's first Far Cry? directed by Cevat Yerli.

Yeah, from a technical standpoint it is impossible. Even for a neutered version like the FC2 editor. Those are just toys. SB3 is a real tool that takes a real machine to run it. Not a toy with ancient hardware. If your all jelly about the PC map editor then buy the pc version of the game and download the editor. Games always have and always will have better community support on the PC then on consoles - and its because microsoft and sony don't control how I use my computer. Its an open platform. Consoles are closed, kinda like living in north korea. You want an editor and North Koreans want shoes and rice - but it aint gonna happen because Best Leader and Best Sony control your life. Also, how you going to download something when the PSN is about as stable as a schizophrenic wolverine on a meth binge riding a unicycle down stairs in an earthquake?

How about a way to take advantage of USB drives since microsoft allows us to use them for games(making modding easier).

Edit: not implying this towards xbox only and being a fanboy. but i stumbled upon this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4wdYftp1rA

We need to get some tech-savy people on this forum to break down whats being described in that youtube video for us non-computer-whiz's. It sounds to me like there may be a way to get PC made maps to run on your PS3 by replacing some files... but I can't figure out what he's talking about when he says: "You'll need to have custom FW on your PS3 and a recent Backup Manager to be able to use the map."

Any idea's? It would be pretty badass if we could figure out a way to play maps on PS3 made through the PC Sandbox editor, even if the method wasn't sanctioned by Crytek / Sony. Both companies have screwed PS3 users over so badly lately that I honestly couldn't care less if they don't support it.

+1
i totally agree. if the Console gamers and the Pc gamers could actually work together and then the community could help this game be more enjoyable and more known. im sure there is a way to get the maps onto the console but we just need the brains the PC gamers have.

You don't want to go the way of custom firmware, espeically with Sony on full guard now.

Yes, there is a way to do it. However, unless its offical, I wouldn't touch it. It's upon Crytek to decide what to do with console versions. Sure, modders/hackers would find a way to combine both. But, it only leads to dark well.

i would love to see what the pc crew come up with using sandbox.
it would brilliant if the four most popular maps were somehow put on ps3 as a free DLC pack.

Yeah, that would be interesting.

If Crytek take a few of the maps from PC mod community, and place them for free into console versions. Would probably be nice to see.

I just don't see it being free though.
