Map markers gone?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 10:23 pm

Has anyone else experienced this? First my map lost a few active quest markers, but showed some. So I restarted the console and now it won't show any. I tried the "floating markers" setting but the problem isn't in my POV view, it's in my map. Cities and locations show up fine, just my quest markers are gone. Maybe I accidentally enabled hardcoe mode ;)

Hoping there's a fix or a PS3 keystroke I can restore them...

What quest(s) are you missing markers on? Some quests don't have them you know. And Miscellaneous quests only show a marker if you "X" on the actual word Miscellaneous and also go over to the right and "X" on the specific quest you want marked.

I had that happen a few times. Sometimes it randomly fixed itself, other times I would disable all active quests, enable a new quest, then set everything back the way it was. It was a pain but it sometimes fixed the problem.

I am missing the first rune stone marker you run into on the way to riverwood, from the beggining of the game

Right. I had a lot of active quests and was carefully maintaining which ones had markers (both misc and main quests). Then I got a "fetch" quest from a blacksmith and BOOM! half my markers disappeared. It was like the straw that broke the camels back.

Ok good to know. I tried disabling all quests and turning just a couple on to no avail. I turned them all off and restarted, still nothing. Maybe when I get a new quest it will reset. At least now I have hope it may fix itself. Playing with no markers could cause problems eventually, since there's usually not enough information in the journal to figure out where to go. Ie:
"Return the item to Ingmund."
Is that a place or a person? West coast or east? Guess I have to carry this 14lb thing around till I bump into it or him, and start paying attention to people's first names...
