Map overcramped!

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 11:57 am

Sorry I have to say this ...
But the map is over cramped with stuff and enemies...

I cannot make 5 steps in a direction without meeting several enemies of different kinds...

Just the last fight ...
I reach a small shack , kill3 bandita , move on 2 m kill5 dogs , while fighting also a giant scorpion appears and in the moving while fighting a robot starts. Shooting at my back and another packof dogs appear, so I flee and few meters after I met supermutants firing nukes ... I am like wtf ...

There is simply too much stuff packed i to small space, there is not the feeling of wasteland. Or an emptyplacelike it should bea posttopicworld ....

PleaseBethesfa keep this in mind for your next projects....

Give itsome room!

Map shouldbe at least 5 times larger , with the same content!

I second this I understand the world is supposed to be a lot more dense but why not make the map atleast 2x the size of skyrim so there is room to breath ?

The small map size honestly took me by surprise. I certainly didn't think it would be smaller than FO:NV's map. Question: How densely populated is the map with actual settlements, towns, interesting locations (eg. places with story or NPCs you can engage)?

I think it's random, before I switched off last night I walked from Abernathy farm to Diamond City, didn't see anything and it was my first real venture out, walked back pretty much the same route and came across lots of enemies.

Half an hour and I can dive back in again :-)

This is not an easy fix, sadly. The entire game would have to be rebuilt to incorporate more space. Either that or we scale every create and NPC down in size. :P

While I agree that things are a bit dense, I still think that it doesn't really matter that much. There's still a lot to see and do, just in a more dense space.

I dont really have any problems with, I like it dense and thick!

Few hours back someone said that Fallout 4 is a ghost town. LOL, WUT? My first thought was: "are you and me playing the same game?"

I'll agree the settlements being so close together kinda kills the immersion for me.

Why am I helping build Sanctuary when Concord is a 2 min walk away? They have loads of buildings there.

You really need a recruitment beacon when you can't throw a rock without hitting a settlement?

Too dense?? I almost think it isn't dense enough. The Glowing Sea is big and empty and also many places in the northern part of the map. I remember for the BoS recon quest I had to go to a bunker at the northern border and there were hardly any buildings along the way except on the coast. Same when I was following an NPC for the main quest and could see a lot of empty stretches of dead forest along the way.

Fallout 4's area is also set in Boston's metro area so lots of suburbs and development would mean it would be pretty dense.

That's strange, op. There were people making angry reviews that FO4 was boring and barren, walking for minutes without seeing any action. I thought that was weird because when I saw turrets in the FO4 trailers I thought [censored] is getting real. ^^

Girls will stop and ask for directions. They don't need a beacon.

I am not making an angry review , neither one of any kind , is stillto early , but I am posting this out of my experience ... I do not feel. To be in a barren wasteland postato ic world , but in an overcrowded cramped fishtank with. Too much packed encounters . Sometimes I cannot even keepfight ing one without stepping into another enemy .

I'm just pissed because I have yet to find any bacon no matter how cramped it is.

@PROMETHEUS, Sounds like my college years when I was getting into trouble. ^^ But yeah, that sounds annoying but I guess someone's annoyance is someone else's "thrill". For those who are trigger-happy, your situation could be a dream come true. ^^

Just another sign of consolizing, dumbing down, "streamlining"...

I don't run into a lot of people often and it's random from what I seen. I can go to a area filled with raiders or super mutants but if I die and go back they all might be gone. Also I'm playing stealth so that might play a part.

Never happen to me , everytime I respawn the enemies are all there where I left them ... And still every 3 m in the game you step into something ... Overcramped gameplay = unimmersive.

I agree. When I was trying to get to The Castle for Taking Independence, it was like each street had alternating Super Mutant and Raider strongholds.

its not smaller than NV map, its over 40 sq miles, NV and FO3 were closer to 15, it may seem smaller but its not, its just packed

Sorry, my fault. See, my character was born with the ability to enter into alternate realities... aka other people's game plays. So, she has stolen all the bacon from everyone's games! And even if you make a brand new game, all the bacon will be gone before you even leave the vault!

Why did I steal your bacon? Because... I'm opening up a House of Bacon! So I need lots of bacon!

Interesting. It seems so much smaller to me. Any input on the second half of my question?
