Mapping the Mojave

I would LOVE that. It would follow up on some lore, and be a great new enemy.

I would be scared of that enemy. Could you just imagine....
*Sipping water to prevent dehydration, then out of the water, comes the head of the catfishlurk."

*shudders* Reminds me of FO3. I was sitting there on the river drinking water to fill my health, and BAM! Deathclaw comes and gives me nightmares.

Since the lake is pure water, I would like to see some people fishing regular fish and hunting the Lakelurks on part of the lake to sell for food...
Also are Lakelurks irradiated?
I don't really get how they mutated from radiation and still able to live in fresh water that should have become irradiated or became purified later somehow...
I confused

70 sidequests, that's over 3x as much as F3 :celebration:

F3 was like a beta for this.

It would be good if you could actually bottle the water. And then stock up a nice supply at your base camp.
I figured when I play the hardcoe mode I would have a base where I kept a large supply of everything and only took out what I needed on each mission.

70 side quests that are marked? I am right in saying that's much more than Fallout 3?

The devs did say this early on but they also said something to the effect that FNV quest would be shorter.

I'm not sure why people are using words mentioned in these previews as notes towards new enemies. Why do some people assume that a feind, or abomonation is a new organism?

Capital letters typically indicate a name or title, so naturally we assume Fiend is the name of someone/something/somegroupofthings. Plus he said evolved abominations.

*Dips canteen into the water while whistling 'Maybe' thinking an unirradiated lake is liquid gold in the Mojave*
*Sees a catfish head poke out of the water*
"Awww, it's so cute :vaultboy: "
*Sees it stand to around 6 feet tall*
*Runs screaming like a girl* :ahhh:

Good!... The land is not entirly destroyed in this one. That means... since you are in the dessert a spot of large vegitation will most likly have a pond or somthing. They are known as oasis, that will hopefully mean the water isn't as radiated as in the CW. Can't wait!!!!! Holy crap im about to burst in excitment.

Lake Mead is a source of pure water.
Probably a spot that will big with players who play in hardcoe mode.

Depending on lake mead area and surrondings (Including enemys) I might set up some kind of base/camp there, if it has some boxes near by. Lake Mead sounds like it will be helpful alot. hardcoe mode FTW

So as was shown in Broken Steel, Mirelurks need irradiated water to survive, so if Lake Mead isn't irradiated, then Lakelurks are definitely different. I hope they take the appearance of something that isn't a crab, and that the ones seen in the trailer are placeholders.

If they do have the appearance of a crab and there is no explanation as to how crabs came to inhabit the middle of the desert, I will be modding them out, even if there are quests involved.

Yes, I would to if I were playing on PC. I don't take kindly to plot holes and things that go againts lore.

Awesome blog with lots of goodies. I've only seen Mirelurks shown once in the trailers and that was in the first game-play video they released. It's very possible they could've been placeholders. I know this is out there, but I would love to go spearing. That is, walking through Lake Mead with a spear while I perform a VATS special move on fish to cook at my campfire.

I'm curious about the abominations and evolved centaurs.

I'm guessing the new centaurs are an excuse for Obsidian to recreate them, like they did the super mutants, but abominations? Are they like the failed FEV subjects in Vault 87?

Sounds verrry eeenteresting.
