Marandus

Post » Fri Nov 13, 2009 5:56 pm

I tend to play "good" characters that don't steal. Tonight I looted half of Marandus, which is the Dunmer fortress in Molag Mar, before I realized that the whole thing is run by some "rogue" Redoran guys. They don't really seem to be bad guys. The ones patrolling the exterior don't even attack you. Do you think it's "wrong" to slaughter them and take their loots? What about items in the propylon chamber?

"I dont start fights, i finish them"

If you need moral-dilemma advice from randoms on a game-forum, perhaps your taking the game too seriously.

If so:  AWESOME :foodndrink:

Dont think about stealing the stuff, your simply liberating it from captivity.

Sometimes I let the ones outside live. But everyone in the strong hold will attack....thereby sealing their own fate.
I forget what's in the propylon chamber there, but I will likely take it....if it's more than empty bottles and stuff.

If they didn't attack you, I think the part of looting their bodies is irrelevant. You shouldn't slaughter them.

Redoran tries to keep the cultists and bandits out of the old fortresses, but doesn't seem to be very successful at it. The patrols outside and the riff-raff inside would most likely kill each other if given the chance.

I don't attack the outside group if they don't attack me, since they're mostly law-abiding Redoran, but the inside gang mostly falls squarely into the "bandits and cultists" category (although there's at least 1 "healer" in one of the fortress who generally won't attack you).

Depends how you want to roleplay it. As you'll see from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Marandus, all the people in and around Marandus are Redorans. The ones outside have lower Fight values, which is why they don't attack you (if your Redoran faction reputation is high enough, the ones inside will leave you alone as well). Exactly why they're occupying an abandoned Dunmer stronghold, far from Redoran territory, is unclear.

If you're sympathetic to Redoran, you might want to leave them alone (or get the LGNPC Pax Redoran mod, which allows you to make friends with them). Otherwise, I guess it's up to you if you want to kill them (they do attack first, after all) and loot everything that isn't nailed down.

Well in New Vegas, even if the person is a bad guy stealing is stealing. Does it matter who you are stealing from? It is still Stealing. Since you are already doing it in a video game and just now noticing it, just goes to show you it really doesn't matter because after all you are playing a video game, and your character would do it.

Don't worry about it, You can still be good, even if you steal. Maybe this is why you were in the Cyrodil Prison in the first place. You got caught stealing from bad or evil people?
