mark/recall

So I've been spending alot of time on the skyrim forum lately and people keep mentioning the mark/recall spell from morrowind. I have morrowind but never got very far in it, can someone just give a brief discription of what this spell does so I'll know what people are talking about when they reference it? Thank you.

Mark and Recall are teleport spells where the user chooses where to teleport back to (mark). recall brings the user back to the mark. As opposed to almsivi/divine intervention spells, which teleports the user to the nearest temple(almsivi)/shrine(divine)

It was "limited FT", fit into the game world in a manner that made sense.

1) Cast a Mark spell at your current location.

2) Go somewhere.

3) Cast Recall to instantly teleport back to wherever the Mark spell was cast.

By placing the Mark at a favorite merchant's, or at your stronghold, house, or appropriated bandit cave, you could return from an adventure with a heap of loot. You still had to hoof it back out from your Marked location into the wilds again, or take public transportation to at least get you closer. By only having one Mark, you couldn't abuse it and place them everywhere, and you couldn't just FT anywhere you felt like, but it saved an immense amount of hiking on the return trips.
