Greetings

I have completed the quest where you enter the Shrine and you have the option to fight or to go to jail. I chose to go to jail. Now when I entered the jail, I was given a bounty of 1000. I completed all of the quests within the jail and managed to escape. In the final battle where I escaped, the Forsworn battle with the guards e.t.c. I didn't attack, just stood there and watched.

Now my question is, when I completed the quest and escaped with the Forsworn, the log said I have been cleared of the bounty as the Forsworn took the blame. But when I check my crime statistics, it says I have a bounty of 1000. Does this mean that my bounty is 1000 since it is the total bounty?

I thought the bounty was cleared after I escaped, as it says in the quest log. When I enter Markarth the guards don't attack or anything.

Go back to the Shrine of Talos and see if the guards are still there. If so, and they go into the never-ending loop of trying to arrest you, welcome to the "I can no longer go to Markarth" club.

Do it now before you drop some serious hours into the game, only to find out later on, you pissed all of those hours away.

Make a save before entering shrine though, and remember...never to go back to the shrine of talos in markarth.

Well I didn't go back to the Shrine of Talos but I have gone back to Markarth to do some quests for the Thieves guild. The guards don't attack me or try to arrest me. Maybe the bounty has cleared but it says 1000 because it's my 'lifetime' bounty.

I'll check out the Shrine of Talos though to be safe.
