What a strange question.

Do you have quests there? Do you want to experience the quests there? Do you want to see all the cities of Skyrim? Do you want to see a city made in Dwarven stone?

Why not just take a carriage there if you don't want to walk?

Every city is worth traveling to. Use carriages for fast travel to undiscovered cites.

Outside of whiterun, near the stable, there's a guy with a horse and a cart, talk to him.

By the stables of each city usually.

All the cities are worth going to if not just for visiting them.

One of the best questlines in the game is in Markarth.

Markarth is worth it if you want to collect all of the Daedric Artifacts to retrieve the Oblivion Walker achievement (Is it trophies for PS3?).

Markarth isn't far if you use a carriage there.

No doubt. It's the most beautiful city in the most beautiful region in the game.

... and the most dangerous.

I recommend you be cautious if you're going into the Reach. Because if you're going to travel, by the Nine Divines, stay on the road! The wilderness just isn't safe anymore. We've had sightings you see, the Forsworn...

Yes. It's the safest city in The Reach, I hear.
