I think Marked for Death could be a whole lot better if it outright killed whoever was in it. With the level 3, it could (should) just turn your enemies into a grease spot.

Damages armour, That's not too great.

not really, against enemy with lot of armor, this can increase the damage they take significantly. quite a good shout for melee/archery

This is a great tool for assassins, I use it reguarly. great against heavy armor/major health enemies.

why would it instantly kill anything? it says marked for death, not makes stuff dead. if a buff was needed, it should actually function like the name implies: "the target is marked for death, and will be killed by the next successful attack against it". mark the target and then attack it to trigger the effect.

Because there is a spell in D&D with the same (or similar) name that outright kills it's target on a high enough roll (meets or exceeds the creature's HD).

It's a personal preference, not a call for a mandated buff. Yeesh. I just want to turn people into nothing but blood stains with my voice.

It would be nice if it was a stealth move also....

When I used it on a sleeping dude (DB Quest) he woke up and got very pissy with me

but...but it should be! i take your rebuttal as nothing less than a declaration of war! IT'S ON.

in all seriousness, sorry for being offensive. i still do think that the name only implies death after the initial effect is placed :o, but of course everyone has the right to look at things how they will.

i offer one cookie in recompense for emotional trauma suffered <3.

Marked for Death is powerful because, as far as I've seen, it never ends. You can place stacking, endless DoT on enemies while simultaneously ripping their armor apart. It's useless against weaker foes, but very fun to throw on dragons or other tough enemies.
