Market District House for sale?

Post » Sat Nov 07, 2009 11:57 pm

I searched Market District House in TesNexus and only got 1 which is someones first mod and is ok, but not what I was looking for.

Are there any others out there?

Also, if I wanted to add my own, is it difficult to do? I've not tried modding scenery or houses before. Could I possibly use an existing house as a template and just plop it into the Market District?

Any particular reason for wanting a Market District one? There are quite a lot of mods adding houses around IC and at least 4 that expand the Shack with a basemant.

Edit: If you look at the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Market_District you may notice a door on the lower one that does not match the upper map. I believe that is from a mod, and the same extra piece could be added to the three other symmetric locations (if other mods haven't already).

Well the Market District is my main hub of activity. It's a pain having to go to the waterfront when I have no other reason to go there. It would make sense and save time to have a house near the shops I use most often.

Track down Hel Borne's Imperial City Storefront Resource, if you can find it.

Take any mod IC house that you do like, regardless of location. Use the above resource to plant an exterior door in the Market District. Then re-assign the interior front door of the house to the exterior door you placed in the Market District. Presto!

If you want to use a vanilla house, just duplicate the interior cell in the CS first, and make any changes you want to the duplicate. Make sure you set the owner as the player. Otherwise, the process should be the same.

There is one or two in the Market District http://oblivionsrealestate.com/Find_A_Home/City_Homes/city_homes.html#ImperialCity

Really we need more city homes, there are now none in Bravil. An upper level apartment in the Market District would be nice with a balcony overlooking the market. Problem is that there are so many Market District overhauls to conflict with.

I believe there's a doorway that can be added to the flat walls at the ends of the section (see my above edit). The sixlivion mod did that, so we know it can be done! You just need to add a door that connects to an interior cell, which can simply be cloned from an existing IC interior and edited. IIRC there are others that add entrances to the outer curved walls but I don't remember if there's enough space for that in the Market district. The other option is a sewer entrance to a totally subterranean home, but that means at least one more cell transition to go in and out.

Have you checked http://oblivionsrealestate.com/Find_A_Home/City_Homes/city_homes.html#ImperialCity? Looks like at least a couple in the Market District.

EDIT: Whoops, Meek beat me to it, sorry -- didn't see that.

You might also want to check for house mod descriptions that mention portals or spells. Some of these lead back to your last location, but most open on a variety of cities, including the IC's market district. I use one, myself, though it's primarily suited to a mage: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20630.

This is what I did when I wanted a Market District house. I have always adored Princess Stomper's Princes IC Apartment but, unfortunately for me, she located it in Talos Plaza which is much too grand for most of my rough 'n' tumble characters. So I slapped in a new entrance and door and...voil?! A Market District house mod just where I want it!

My first choice for a house in the market district is JOG's Thievery in the Imperial City (a quest mod). It's possibly my tastes are unusual though.
