Pintarus Inventeus kicked me over to Alawen for master marksman training. I found her at Troll Candle Camp at night and no option for training came up. I waited and tried the next day. Found her running around chasing deer and the option still didn't show up. Waited until that night again when she was back and camp and still there was only 'rumors' as a dialogue question.

Long story short. I tried talking to her for the next four days, each time waiting four or so hours.

So how do I get her to train me then?

Make sure you have exhausted all dialogue options with, Pintarus. You could also try, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Reman_Broder and see if you get any other results.

Also, having an Elven Bow with you when you speak to her helps the quest along immensely. :wink_smile:

Yes, she will ask you to find an Elven Bow. Not only that, but just any old Elven Bow won't do. You have to get one as loot from an encounter. Buying one isn't good enough even if a vendor happens to have one. Annoying.

Same with the Light Armor quest. I only do these for the quest total, although I like Alawen as a character.

I ended up going to Reman Broder to see if he was necessary to talk to. Went back to her and still no dialogue option. And I have an elven bow with me that I looted from Rockmilk. I wonder if I have to be a certain level maybe. I'm 12 right now.

I have found she buggers of regulary, so just resting untill 8 am or so my bring her back.
The other way is to fast travel back and forth untill the morning.
As to dialogue is the quest marked?, and time will have an effect I think as well.

The wiki mentioned that she won't have the dialogue with two elven bows equipped. Sure enough I had two in my inventory. I dropped one and was able to complete the quest. Too bad the training button on the bottom near the speech challenge box never appears.

Oh well. I just wanted to complete the quest more than anything.
