Marriage Amulet? What?

So at the points where they are talking about marriages, the interveiwee says that you wear an "Amulet" to let NPC's know your interested? I dont get it? So you bond and form relationships through time, you just stick on a piece of Jewellry and pick who you want to marry? Im probably very wrong, or i misheard him, or im missing something... but... it certainly is odd?

The amulet activates the relationship dialogue so you don't have to see it everytime you talk to an NPC.

Old news, and yes it is odd. My best guess is it's an easy way to change dialog scripts globally, and at least then you don't have to fart and pose in the middle of town.

Exactly. A very good design decision. It's like wearing a ring to show that you're married, but it's the opposite here. It'll add to the overall experience without being distracting if you have no interest in the marriage feature.

I'm sure its so people that don't want marriage options in dialog can avoid it by not wearing it. It's like an enchantment that makes NPCs know you are interested least that is what I took from it.

Edit: Wow Dragonborn1 your good at posting before me so yeah what you said too.

It's old, old news that has been beat to death. Most thought is was a decent feature to differentiate marriage and friendships. Personally I'm not sure if I will get married but I do plan on having several friends. You can get several random quests just by having friends, not sure about spouse quests.

Yep, Bethesda takes yet another cue from the modding community. Damn, I love these guys. Is there no end to their awesomeness? :tes: :fallout:

Wasn't there another interview where they said that different amulets would attract different people/races?

If you are a Star Trek fan, think of it as a horgon on a chain. If not, then um... you can still think of it as a horgon on a chain but you will probably not know what a horgon is so it won't help.

I think so, it makes the amulet feature more dynamic, instead of being only a dialogue activator.

With all the talk of marriage I wonder if there is polygamy (or straight up advltery). If there is divorce I wonder if its a matter of taking the amulet in the thread off, some dialog option, or if you have to pull a Henry the 8th?

Really? When this was found out a while ago, everyone HATED it and thought it was completely stupid. I can deal with the single amulet thing, where wearing one shows people that you're interested, but different amulets attracting different races/people? No, just, no.
