Like someone said on the first page it's kinda the whole "oh, you can actually do that?" thing. However, people must remember - WE CAN FIGHT DRAGONS WITH GOOD AI NOW! Wow! They have actually done it!

I would also enjoy a splendid brothel.

People dont want brothels in the game to pleasure themselves over, they want them for realism.

If people feel so opposed to this idea, then why dont they also complain about marriage being in the game (sounds like a stupid idea to me, marrying an NPC).

Will there be drugs or drug related themes in this PG 13 game? Will there be murder in this PG 13 game? Will there be any content that depicts sadism (without the victim being a masochist)?
Yet consensual exchange of physical pleasure or a business that represents such is not appropriate for a PG 13 game? It's not like they have to show anything at all. It could just be a place where a player loses their money and good name (infamy perhaps..). The females available for their services could be dressed fully and simply have heavy makeup on or something.

If they included marriage in this PG 13 game, I'm sure they made it the disney version where a man and woman are married and you see the scene fade away with them kissing and they live happily ever after. . . It's not like they had to include the details of the honeymoon just because they included marriage. Could they have not treated brothels the same way? Brothels = six ..true. Marriage also = six though. Just because we know what a man and his wife do every night and we know what those females in brothels do, doesn't mean we need to witness it for confirmation or something. lol

I'd support brothels because if they went so far as to include marriage for immersion then why not brothels...PG 13 brothels..

Edited: to add that I've seen some people saying that this game is rated M. I'm honestly not sure what it's really rated. I was just saying that they don't have to show anything X rated is all. :]

I'm simply acknowledging a problem that would arise. I am entirely against censorship of any kind, whether it be in film, music, or video games. However I acknowledge that putting a brothel in is simply going to irk on the nerves of special interest groups and such that want everything (The U.S.A. specifically) to be prude while only offering a small feature that would generally make no difference. I also want it known that I am all for a brothel or any other type of added content that fits TES, but as I stated above and in past posts, it would just give prudes a reason to bicker and demand rules on games to be tightened.
I don't expect anyone to share my views on this, I just wanted to get my point out there for everyone to understand

You seem to be missing the point. I'm not looking for a six scene. A brothel would offer far more in terms of immersion. You may play the family man type character, a dudly do right sort of guy that would just settle down have 4 kids and save the planet on weekends, but I don't. My characters generally live more in a grey area, as likely to kill you as to help you, and a brothel seems far more fitting than marriage, not to mention the opportunity for quests and character a brothel would bring.

Still, I would like something like this for verisimilitude and the possibility of interesting quests.
I have no real desire to go do the screen goes black thing.

Also, people who want to moan and be 'upstanding' can always find a way.
What about the pantheon of the Divines, thats polytheism.
Or killing enemies with a sword or spell, thats graphic violence.
Skooma, alcohol, alchemy potions can all be construed as 'drugs'.

I think that people should just write literature/ make a painting/ develop games regardless of the nitpickers.
Its an artistic creation, a fantasy. What fits the environment better should be more important than what moaners are going to say, and I see real intertersting possibilities for a house of ill repute. I adds flavour to the game, and can tie in to quests.

If its not in the main game, when done tastefully, it could make a good mod.

While not exactly a brothel, did you know Morrowind had "Desele's house of eartly delights" ahead of its release.

If there's something similar in Skyrim, it'll likely be for you to discover, and not openly talked about.

It'd be funny if you could pick up a VD at the brothel that slightly drains your health all the time. You would then have to find a well-hidden dragon shout called "PENI-CILLI-HO" to cure yourself. :biggrin:
