Marriage, but no brothel? : V

Am I the only one that finds the idea of a brothel more appealing than marriage? Perhaps its the fact that I've been married, or the idea that in a game there arent any real consequences, but I'd rather not be monogamous...

It is the world's oldest profession after all. Even Dibella has some sacred prostitution going on, and Sanguine is into that sort of thing.

It's lore, but I'd like to see it in game.

Wow, that topic actually made me laugh out loud... and that at 5 am - damn messed up sleep cycle.
Anyway, I'd support a brothel, especially in a difficult and... hard (pun was originally not intended) world, full of adventures and dangers. The marriage thing does not appeal to every gamer, nor will it appeal to every character and there is also the time before meeting the potential partner and the time after a the possible loss of the partner.
It would certainly add something to the atmosphere, but either way if it is not a part of the game now... you know the modding community.

The word itself isn't M rated, nor is the discussion of it being included. Now if we were to discuss what we would do once inside the brothel, yes it would be considered against the PG-13 rules.

OT- Eh, I'm kinda indifferent, while I wouldn't object to it being included in the game, it wouldn't exactly be dtrimental to my gameplay either.

I probably wouldn't use it, at least not on my first playthrough, but I do think brothels, if implemented well, can add a lot to the atmosphere of a game.

Remember Hot Coffee? The Games industry does.

Seems like a waste of effort for the Devs. It adds very little to the game: what would be the benefits - or penalties - for going to one? What does it add to the game to give your character the clap? For a cheap thrill and "Wow, you can do that?" moment, the title would have to run the gauntlet of content laws and regulations and probably add another ratings point in half the countries it's sold in. It could end up on news items and generate bad publicity and they'd lose sales to the teenage market whose parents won't pay for such entertainment. More trouble than it's worth IMO.

There's hints and talks here and there and might there be a brothel? Possibly. I can see them avoiding it because they don't want to deal with any criticism their way or cheapen things. We've seen how Fallout 3's "hokers" were and the prosts in Obsidian's New Vegas were no better. I'm sure that went a big deal into it.

Brothels don't really seem like a Skyrim-y kind of thing...

I could see something like a tavern with *ahem* busty viking waitresses or something of the sort, but a brothel doesn't seem classy enough, I suppose....

If there's a species that's intelligent enough to do everything a human can do as all the main races in TES games so far and they also sixually reproduce/get sixually aroused then there'll be a brothel.

It's less is it suitable for the world and more is it suitable for the game without trouble or seeming cheap.

I.e. Saints Row level of over the top sixuality.

Although I can see how it would fit I am glad there isn't one. Now, I am not a prude by a long shot but I think that would irk me if it was added. No reason to have it really besides, it seems six is in everything these days it's nice when it's not crammed into our video games.
