Marriage why are all the girls ugly?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 2:16 pm

Attractive women are just too "spreadsheety".

That's pretty good, haha.

I see what you mean OP, but I think Jordis the Sword-Maiden is pretty. A very nice voice too. She's the only NPC that can say "Some may call this junk. Me, I call them treasures" without giving me the urge to pull my hair out.

Eh... It's juat a case of Bethesda focusing too much on realism and being real and all that. I mean who else but an ugly chick desperate for attention would marry some loser like the dragon born. Guy eats giant toes to get high and learn new mixes, has the Thalmor trying to kill him, spends all his money on cheap iron ingots, has a dagger fetish as a result, smells like a draugr... I mean the list of this guy's anti-social qualities is huge!

loool

Bethesda seems to hate pretty women ^^. Especially blonde ones.

The most disappointing moment i had in the game was when i learned that i can′t marry Lisette in the Winking Skeever in Solitude. I wasn′t interested in marriage until i saw her and only did the quest and got an amulet of mara after meeting her only to find out she doesn′t give a s*** about me and marriage.

The most beautiful woman in the game besides Vex and i cant marry neither of the two.
This makes me a sad Panda. :(

Bethesda, i want my trophy wife so make the blondes available for marriage pls :D

Yeah Lisette. My rogue/ranger guy was heartbroken to find out she wasn't interested. Can't even recruit her as a follower :(

It's doable if you're playing on the PC though, she can be added to the marriage and follower factions.

Why are all the girls ugly?

Why are all the players of TES so shallow?

Seriously though: I don't see the problem with the fact that you can marry ugly people.

I take exception to that. Since none of the wives you can marry have any personality to speak of, they should be at least good looking to make up for it.

I wish there were fatbodies in Skyrim. Hogni Fat-Arm is supposed to be fat, but he is just muscular like everyone else. Would add a whole new dimension to these forum complaints.

That said, not all of the default marriable females are ugly. None will ever hold a candle to Grelod the Kind, but too much perfection dilutes its impact.

Annekke was already married. So far, she's the only one I've wanted to marry, too. Maybe I should perform the dark sacrament ...

Haha I tired, the poor miner went down but she's still unavailable :nope:
The hottest woman in all Skyrim hands down. Her daughter is marriable though, so you can adventure with your mother in law while your wife is cooking at home haha how sick is that

I don't know if I could have my character marry either Aela or Ria. I mean people are supposed to have children and not a litter of puppies...

While I would so much prefer an Altmer woman to marry (especially one of the Thalmor chicks!) I think Ysolde is absolute perfection. Sweet behavior, nice voice, looks.

You good sir have excellent taste. I hate the lack of a good Altmer to marry, I really don't like Taarie at all. Elenwen from the Embassy, now there's a good start.
Aela is good-looking but the face-paint turns me off plus the double PMS once a month would kill me.

Nocturnal is pretty hot. Of course a Daedric Prince's idea of marriage may not be to your liking. But since a lot like older woman, she beats anyone else by a huge margin.

I got married because I thought it would produce a few story lines or quests. It's a good idea to include marriage in the game for the sake of emmersion but once I was married well... I'm not. It is like it is half done. I married Ysolda and she seems concerned about the cat people and caravans. But after she voices her concerns on these topics they go nowhere. So, where is the married banter, the in depth about who she is, her family, etc. Where are the plans to set up some sort of business together or some story of her uncle getting into trouble that I can help with or something. I married an object that has less depth than a quest giver. Why doesn't she become a quest giver? Why not use items in the home to trigger certain discussions with her?

As a device the marriage idea has a lot of potential. I would have hoped that the more beautiful the spouse or the more elevated their status the more difficult would be getting them to agree to marriage (not simply not on the cards) and the more complex the resulting quests story lines and consequences for the player. Something to think about in further expansions.

There are too many NPC to give depth (personal history/quests) to each and every one, unless they reduce the amount to 5-6 or make skyrim a dating sim.

idk, I felt a bit of stirring in my loins for the Hag's apprentice in Markarth. Maybe she doesn't like gingers, because she won't even give me the time of day.

What you have there is a fallacy, sire. Just because you are a lazy slob, doesn't mean every game developer is a lazy slob.
