Marriage why are all the girls ugly?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:28 am

i tried for ages to get the woman that works in the bar at Makarth ( think that was the place) to marry me, but alas it was in vien. i find it ironic that in these hard times everyone is looking for love and companionship but not everyone can marry lol

they need to fix Carlotta Valentia and lami

This so much. I was disappointed that Carlotta Valentia wasn't marriagable after she complained about all the attention from men.

Pfah, I'd prefer Idgrod Ravencrone be marriageable.

Same here, she seems like a fun lady.

Also...MUIRI FTW!

Jordis the Sword-Maiden is pretty attractive, and available. But I really like Lisette, so since I'm on the PC, I think I'll marry Lisette and hope we'll have a rockin' threesome there in Solitude. :)

Mods really help with that.

Anyway, I think Jordis the Sword-Maiden, is the best looking woman in the game.

I married Mjoll and we had alot of adventures from then on.

But then one dreadful day we were overwhelmed and she was killed in a bandit cave.

I killed all them bastards in rage, for I could not 'reload' the game as I was playing "Dead is Dead" mode

I dragged her body to a bed and placed her sword neatly on top of her so she may rest in peace.

And slept on that bed for 24 hours. I cried myself to sleep.

I got married because I thought it would produce a few story lines or quests. It's a good idea to include marriage in the game for the sake of emmersion but once I was married well... I'm not. It is like it is half done. I married Ysolda and she seems concerned about the cat people and caravans. But after she voices her concerns on these topics they go nowhere. So, where is the married banter, the in depth about who she is, her family, etc. Where are the plans to set up some sort of business together or some story of her uncle getting into trouble that I can help with or something. I married an object that has less depth than a quest giver. Why doesn't she become a quest giver? Why not use items in the home to trigger certain discussions with her?

As a device the marriage idea has a lot of potential. I would have hoped that the more beautiful the spouse or the more elevated their status the more difficult would be getting them to agree to marriage (not simply not on the cards) and the more complex the resulting quests story lines and consequences for the player. Something to think about in further expansions.

Yeah, this. Even worse, she had absolutely no different dialogue or anything when I was Khajiit.

Attractive women are just too "spreadsheety".

We have found Skyrim's "awesome button"

But that's not it, ugly women are just a TES tradition :)

Ugh, I have the same complaint, but about the male options. I mean really, why is http://images.uesp.net/a/a6/SRBelrand.jpg even an option? http://images.uesp.net/7/71/SR_npc_Octieve_San.jpg The most acceptable default option I've found so far is http://images.uesp.net/1/1a/SR-npc-Revyn_Sadri.jpg.

Borgahk the Steel Heart.

Sure, she's an Orc. But she has the sweetest personality...

No, the question is why are there no marriable Khajiit and why are there only two marriable male Argonians, one of which isn't a follower and the other is never at home.

Because Khajiit don't care for a traditional marriage like Human do. Also the Player can be a Khajiit. Most Khajiit (maybe all of them) are just there for Buisness and are not living in Skyrim.

That's not a good reason to not have the option. J'zargo should be marriable at the very least.

Although, honestly, I'd rather just have a mechanic that lets you hook up with people rather than full-blown, irreversable marriage.

Maybe it is no good reason, but thats the backstory of Khajiits ;)

I'm aware of the backstory, but it's not like every Khajiit in the world adheres to their own customs. Heck, I even mentioned J'zargo; he's a Khajiit that left his homeland to study magic.
