Marry the Master

Post » Wed Feb 12, 2014 1:12 am

This came up in another thread in that I noted that there are no Spouse potentials in the Thieves Guild like there are with the Companions and College. Actually I don't believe there are any you can take as a follower either.

So, once you've become the Guild Master, and fully restored the Guild, who are the likely candidates to fill that missing void in the Guild Master's life?

Of those available for marriage in the vanilla game and DLC's, I immediately think of Ysolda, as she has some underground trading going on herself and probably wouldn't mind being married to the Guild Master. Muiri is out since that requires the DB.

However, if the list is expanded (I'm on the PC so I can add anyone with the dialog to the marriage faction), who else would fit? Note using the console I can add Muiri to the list, as I do think she wouldn't have a problem with it. Hroki would make a nice young trophy wife. She could be clueless as to what I actually do as long as I'm providing for her. Does Sapphire have the marriage dialog?

Just wondering what other women come to mind as someone that wouldn't mind or couldn't care about being married to the Thieves Guild Master? And why do you think they wouldn't mind?

Thanks.

Brelyna can be married, and so can almost all of the Companions.

Ysolda is a decent choice.

This.

She's the only female mercenary, and the mercenaries don't care about crimes, so there you go.

(If you're on PC there are mods that will allow you to marry several npcs involved with the TG questline.)

Well playing a mostly vanilla game (very little mods), the Dunmer choices are generally not very appealing. I like Jenassa though.

I can use the console to add Sapphire to the marriage faction, but that does little good if there is no dialog for her to use. I'll have to check the Nexus.

Okay seriously though, How about marrying sapphire? I felt kinda bad for her when she tells you that story (And I wanted to get to know her more but...)

*grumbles at the lack of male options in this thread*

But sure why not marry Sapphire? There's Rune too.

I'm all for Sapphire, especially after I unlock more information about her in the DB DLC.

I hadn't thought about it but Ingun Black-Briar would be a prime choice. That should really tie things up well with Maven. I wonder if she has the dialog for it. Does anyone know how to tell?

I think if the character has the voice type then you'll be able to marry her. Unlike Serana who doesn't have the voice for it.

Doesn't Ingun speak like Ysolda?

I don't know for sure. I'm trying to find a wiki or something that lists the voice actor files for NPC's, but no luck so far.

Ingun, Ysolda and Idgrod the Younger have the same VA.

Sapphire uses the sultry voice type and it works for marriage. Some lines are missing originally but new ones were put together and added with the USKP. (Kind of sounds like a different voice actress though.)

Sapphire HAS the voice type just as Merc says, and there is a couple of mods that will allow you to marry her and have her as your follower. I know - my thief married her. B) I think I used the mod by... Kryptopyr maybe? Some of her follower dialogue was silent, but as a wife, she was fully voiced. Only issue I had was during one point in the questline (after you've got Gallus' encoded journal and return to Riften with Karliah) where she ran off back to Riften and wouldn't follow until that quest was completed, but since you're already Guildmaster that won't be a problem.

Just looking at some of the females "Moral" settings and noted that Svana Far-Shield has the 'Any Crime' setting. I've always felt sorry for her when I hear her story. I may consider her as well but she's supposed to be in love with Sibbi.

Ingun also has the 'Any Crime' setting. Hmm ...

The big drawback with Ingun is that you'd have Maven for a Mother-in-Law! :yuck:
