Hey Martigen.

I just upgraded to RC4 earlier tonight, and have run in to an issue....

It seems I'm getting mega-spawns all over the place. It's usually mole rats, vicious dogs, and protectron robots. They spawn in massive clumps, sometimes 10 or so of each at a time.

The laser fire from a distance is spectacular, almost as good as a Pink Floyd concert light show.

The body count consisted of 3 Deathclaw Youngs, about 10-15 mole rats, 10 or so vicious dogs, 5 or so Rad Scorpions, 3 robo-brains, at least 10 protectrons, and several ash piles. I didn't even try counting how many Night Ghouls I picked off as I approached the site (at least 10... I'm sure).

Notice, I'm using a mod that makes ammo and meds very rare, so I do most of my traveling at night in sneak mode, snipeing profitable targets from a distance with a silenced .308 rifle.

I followed the upgrade instructions from the first post to the letter, and I'm not using the increased spawn plugins...

I do appreciate the amount of scrap metal, microfussion batteries, and energy cells I collect at such spawn points, but would like to fix this if possible. Any ideas?

I get spawns similar to what you describe as well, sometimes causes a bit of lag, but your pic is too dark to actually show everything. its as if the spawns are too close or the paths are too close, I have seen robo brains attack the nearest target, say raiders, on the other side of the raiders are rad scorps, the scorps and the robots kill off the raiders, the rad scorps go back to their area being chased by the robots, which triggers the yoa gui that dont attack the scorps, so they run in after the robots... becomes a bit complicated after that and ends up with a battle royale that some times cause big lag spikes. used to be where my crashes came from.


hope people could follow that, I have been known to connect dots not in a straight line.

1: Martigen, I started a new game with RC4. I don't need to wait 4 days do I?

2: I have the Floaters, Geckos, and Wanamingos turned off and at every spawn point (almost) the game spawns...... everything. Radscorpions, Deathclaws, Yao Guai, Corpse Flies, & Robots. It's one huge fight. I have barely seen any Night Ghouls. This also happens during the day and I have waited 4 days in an unoccupied spot just to see if it was an error on my part, but the same thing happens. My mods have not changed since RC3 and it worked fine with them. I'm not sure whats going on here.

Okay, this is probably idiocy on my part or Vista's fault, but it had to do with creatures, so...

Okay, the textures for creatures are bugged. Not people, just creatures. They seem to lift the textures straight from things in the environment - stone, metal, Vault-Tec signs.

While the Amazing Technicolor Molerats are somewhat amusing, I need to fix this. Help?

The new game is where I see this weirdness. Whenever you release an upgrade, I start a new game just to make sure. I also delete all the old savegames.

Just to compare.
In my load order, which include FWE, WMK, MMM merged patch fully preserve MMM settings (MMM loaded last)
Two exeptions
- it also add to itself (and combine in result) factions and relations from other (quest) mods.
-It add NO ATTACK from MMM it the result, if it was overwriten by another mod.
Nothing more.

Infact, performance has -increased- quite substantially. About 3-4 fps in heavy populated areas. Just thought I'd say say.

The increased FPS is a great! I've been able to up the spawn multiplier, so more enemies to kill.

Of course, I did not get far before a different one snuck up and attacked me from the rear. I guess I had better go pick up that Medic Armor.

Dogs- disgusting creatures.
When one or two of them see you, they run away, then gathered in flocks about 6-7 and try to attack from behind :)

when i select no corpse files,i cannot talk to any NPC and also the escape button on my keyboard dont work to exit out of game otherwise it all works ok i think

So firstly, that's not possible. Corpse Flies doesn't alter anything to do with NPC integration and certainly not the player's keyboard!

im using the 1.6 patch

All of the above need to load after Mart's Mutant Mod.esp. This is in the INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS which you read, right?

Mart's Mutant Mod - Broken Steel.esp

This has been replaced by Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp... which you're also loading. Why didn't you remove this?

Mart's Mutant Mod - XFO (not FOOK).esp

Why are you loading this and the XFO + FOOK version above? This file is out of date, you also should have deleted it a long time ago.

Finally, with that many mods I'm not surprised you've got problems. I'd suggest culling anything you don't need or don't know intimately the changes it makes to your game.

Mart, no offence, but are you certain we don't need the unofficial patch with the 1.6 version? I do read the necessary posts and readmes, and it's not clear to me that we should stop using it after 1.6...

trying not to take off topic but unofficial patch is still a good idea as it fixes masses of things that arent even touched by the official patches
however it has been suggested that you no longer need to use masterupdate with 1.6- though again some people have found greater stability using both

thankyou martigen for the help...i have now loaded my mods in the order that you recommended however whenever i go to certain areas my framerate drops very low and then the game crashes...whenever i disable mmmf v4 i get no crash...does anybody know how to fix this please...i never used to get this with mmmf v3

I am having a strange problem since installing the new version (i'm pretty sure it is this mod but I can't confirm it). I've just started Broken Steel, I was at the Citadel, I fast travelled to Megaton to carry out the install process, then fast travelled back to the Citadel to make a start, when I noticed extreme slow down. I looked around and saw this, it's like the scene from a war movie -

There are actually about 150 troops in the screenshot, and they keep respawning, cloning from a single guy here -

Interesting, I saw four Night Ghouls attack a Radscorpion and then they ran away from me (and I am not running one of the increased spawn options).

Of course, I did not get far before a different one snuck up and attacked me from the rear. I guess I had better go pick up that Medic Armor.

thankyou martigen for the help...i have now loaded my mods in the order that you recommended however whenever i go to certain areas my framerate drops very low and then the game crashes...whenever i disable mmmf v4 i get no crash...does anybody know how to fix this please...i never used to get this with mmmf v3

remove all of mmm, and redo the install of mm from scratch following the instructions. it should clear up better, just removing the old stuff doesnt count. remember to uninstall, load game, rest 4 days in house, save, reinstall, I usually wait 4 more days to allow respawns, and go.

also, go through your weather mods, you have a bit of redundancy and order
you have rain, then radioactive rain, then rain again.

check your repair mods for redundancy, personally, I use repair rethought reborn, works with dlc as well.
you have more than 1 vats mod, make sure they dont mess each other up

Martigen, I'm also getting the spawn issue where it's just a large brawl between bots and ghouls and bugs etc etc and I did follow your upgrade instructions to the letter but I'm more interested in your feedback on a more serious issue that I am having.

I'm having an issue with the MQ of Broken Steel not transitioning properly. The main thing is I can't get Fawkes to activate the purifier, it's as if his AI package is broken. Another serious issue is when I activate the purifier myself, after I regain control of my body the quest log still shows that I am on "Take it Back" and that I should activate the purifier. I actually went in the rotunda to check around and the doors sealed behind me just like I was there fighting colonel autumn so I was trapped.

I'm going to disable all mods at a save that I made just prior to beginning the "Take it Back" quest and see what happens. For your reference, this is my load order, top to bottom. I don't know how to make mine show up nice and pretty like the posters above me did.
