Martigen's Monster Mod + Ooo?

Rename it to "%PluginInYourLoadOrder% - MMM.bsa" without the .ESP of the plugin's name. The plugins has to be an ESP, not and ESM, and it should not have any spaces in the name.

Okay, I'm with ya. But what do you mean %PluginInYourLoadOrder%? :flamed:

Okay, I'm with ya. But what do you mean %PluginInYourLoadOrder%? :flamed:

The name of a plugin in your load order, haha. The common plugin of choice is the Shivering Isles plugin. For people who have it, SI installs a plugin the contains one unimportant record, DLCShiveringIsles.esp. It is just a dummy plugin to load the SI BSA files in the data folder. With it being there, you can force Oblivion to load any BSA by naming it "DLCShiveringIsles - XXX.bsa." Bracketing something in with "%" stand for a variable, similary to bracketing text with "<>." It is one of the conventions on this forum anyway. If I use abbreviations that you are unfamiliar with, please let me know. Where are you in the setup? Do you see your archives in the "Installers" tab?

As small tip: I am very particular about naming BAIN packages. I preserve the original mod name and leave the TESNexus file ID at the end. For example, my UOP archive might be name "UOP 3.2.0-5296.7z." Why? Because if you right-click on a package, you will see a function "Open at TESNexus" in the menu. If you leave the file ID at the end of the archive's name, the function will not be faded out. This allows me to quickly check for updates or get links for people when I am posting. Sometimes, it is quicker to do that to find documentation on a mod than to get to the mod's ReadMe.

At some point, I plan to post my BAIN archive list as a template for organizing your BAIN folder. There is a general order of installation for mods that you should keep in mind, but you do not have enough mods to worry about that too much at this point.

MMM 37 BSA (continued): In order to create a dummy plugin to load the MMM BSA, grab a copy of the blank ESP in Bash's Mopy Extras folder (%OblivionInstallDrive%:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\Extras".) Copy it to the folder where you extracted the MMM BSA. Rename the blank ESP to "Oblivion.esp" and rename the MMM BSA to "Oblivion - MMM.bsa." Now, select the ESP and the BSA and add them to an archive (right-click and choose one of the "Add to" options.) Back in the Bash "Installers" tab, you should now see the archive with the BSA and the dummy plugin. If you do not see the archive, right-click on the "Installers" tab and choose refresh data (not the full refresh) to refresh the package list. (You could do a full refresh, but that takes longer and is not necessary in this case.) Move this archive to the position of the MMM 37 BSA archive as indicated above.

Okay, I figured it out and followed all this...However there's a big X next to the archive on the list. Must have borked the copying, trying again.

Okay, this is the point I'm at:

I'm seeing all my archives on the left side ready to go. I've got them lined up in Order from 0 to Last (8).

MMM373BSA.7z is still on the list even though I have extracted and archived it with the blank .esp, Oblivion.esp.

Oh, and this newly made dummy archive is a .rar file, not a 7z, if that makes a diff.

You do not need the original archive any more, and the file extension does not really matter. If you are going to keep the original as a backup or something, I suggest moving it to a different location. Its presence uses resources as BAIN loads the "Installers" tab, and backups are safer if they are not in the same location as the items they are backing up. Move it out of the Oblivion folder, another HDD might be a good place. If you have selected all of your plugins as you with, you can now highlight all of the packages (excepting the original MM BSA archive) right-click and choose "install last." Normally, I would say choose "install," but you will notice that "==Last==" divider type entry. When a new archive is add to the Installers folder, they appear above that divider. Installing Last moves the files below that divider. You can also use the same method you used to organized the order of the package to move them below the last divider as well. If you have already done that, then just choose "install." After BAIN finishes, the file installation component will be complete.

Edit: typo, read your last post...
First, click on the "Order" tab to have it sort by so that higher numbers are lower. That way, mods toward the bottom of the list "win." That is the sort order you will want to use most of the time. Everything is good, except for the MOBS file. OOO uses OMOBS. Just follow the link and download the OMOBS 1.0 archive to the Bash Installers folder. Then move OMOBS archive down to the same position that the MOBS archive. Make sure to uncheck the SI plugin as well.

No, you need http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28537 The latest version is 1.0. The link I posted earlier is current.

Edit: added relevant link

To delete a package in BAIN, right-click on the package and choose "delete." (Warning: It won't be in your recycle bin afterward either.)

Happens to everyone. No worries, but watch the double posts. Use the edit button in the bottom-right corner area.

Edit: ...read last post. It looks great, but it is kind of funny to see "==Last==" installed. I do not think that it matter much however. Well, you are done with the file installation, so you can start sorting out your load order now. First, download http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1081475-boss-better-oblivion-sorting-software/, if you do not already have it.
Before you run BOSS, turn off lock times (right-click on the "File" tab.) After you run your load order through BOSS, post it here by using Wrye Bash's "List Mods" function (right-click on the "File" tab, and it copies the list for you.) You can turn "Lock Times" back on at this point. It helps preserve your load order, a neat little feature. For example, if you run BOSS while it is on, you can check out the BOSS LOG file and see what the changes (the resultant load order) would be.

What?! None of the plugins installed. Do you see the plugins in the data folder? If not, try downloading Wrye Bash v276. It is still in the "main files" section of the Wrye Bash downloads section at TESNexus. Again, downloaded it to the Oblivion folder and "extract here." If it works with v276, another bug needs to be reported in the Wrye Bash thread. After installing v276, restart Wrye Bash, reinstall the packages (select all, right-click and choose install missing) then check out the "Files" tab again.

That's better...You need to make some changes now, so back to the installers tab. First, you do not have Shivering Isles. Uninstall MOBS, then delete that package (right-click and choose "delete".) Select the OMOBs package, and uncheck the SI plugin. For MMM, choose one of the spawn rates plugins. I do not recommend "increasing" the spawn rates with your first try of MMM. That does not mean increased over Vanilla but, rather, increased over the default MMM spawn rates. MMM adds a lot (by default.) Since you are using the Hunting&Crafting plugin, you probably do not want to decrease bone loot. You kind of need those extra bones if you want to craft weapons. Remove the zombies for body replacers meshes, unless you are using a body replacer (which I do not see in your load order.) Download the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1075204-relzmartsmonstermod37b3-public-release-3-relz/page__view__findpost__p__15640513 from the MMM thread. (I'll go grab the link.) Move the archive into position after the MMM public release archive. Then, install it.

Edit: I added the link. Now, you need to run that load order through BOSS. Did you download it already? Make sure to get the latest Masterlist file. It is below the main BOSS download on BOSS's TESNexus page.

Okay. I already deleted MOBS earlier, without Uninstalling it first, and it remains. Is this a problem?

Checking out the masterlist and updating water archive...

Okay, installed the water archive.

After unchecking the mods you mentioned within MMM and the SI part of OMOBS, the lines turn orange...what do I do with that?

Got the masterslist file. Where does it go?

Yup, it is a problem, haha. You should uninstall packages before deleting them because now Bash does not have a record of the installation. Fortunately for you, that mod only contains plugins and some documentation, so delete the plugins from the list in the "Files" tab and find and delete the ReadMe file in the "Data\Docs" folder.

This is getting awfully complicated for such as simple installation.
The only files required for an OOO + MMM configuration are:

http://http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Download.php?id=61277 patched to
http://http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Download.php?id=83041
Follow TheNiceOne's install advice for MMM 3.7b3 with his OMOD installers found http://http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=995334
Any other additions are completely optional as Oscuro's already contains a version of MOBS.
If running a simple OOO + MMM game there is no need for Wrye Bash or a bashed patch.

By "delete" you mean just un-check them from the list, yeah?

No, unchecking is "deactivating." Delete is right-click on the plugin and choose "delete." I will look at the link. Before I forget, I recommend keeping OBMM around. If you ever want to install a mod that messes with shaders, or a mod's OBMM script offers a super advantage, it is good to have around. I do, however, recommend moving the OBMM OMODs folder. You can change that in the "settings" menu (see the right sidebar.) Try to use BAIN as much as possible, however. The conflict detection is a "must have" feature in most cases.

Edit: The link is live. Wait a few seconds for the browser to fully load, and it will take you down to post #3. Otherwise you can go to the post in the MMM thread yourself. Do a find (ctrl+F) for "Diverse Waterlife Update."

@Shikishima: As I replied to TheNiceOne, that has been tried already. Plus, he part the OBMM played is taken care of already, anyway.

Oh, your links are good. Shikishima's link was dead, I believe.

So the last thing I did was disable a bunch of MMM features, and enable a few as well.

How do I make that switch? Do I click "Install missing" and then just disable the ones I installed before, but am not going to use?

Use install missing when you add (check more) plugins. Otherwise, use "anneal." Otherwise being if you deselect any plugins or files, even if you also check some new plugins. Anneal is kind of like "correct" the installation according to all current variables.

Edit: Re-post your load order when you are done, and remember to re-run BOSS and rebuild your bashed patch after you make changes to your load order. I can help you with building the bashed patch when you take care of everything up to that point.

I forgot about not having a bashed patch on the first use of Wrye Bash. Put a copy of the bashed pach in your "Data" folder. You will find it in the "Oblivion\Mopy\Extras" folder. It is called "bashed patch, 0.esp." People usually do not change the name, but many people probably have multiple bashed patches and may name subsequent patches "bashed patch, 1.esp," "bashed patch, 2.esp," etc. Re-run BOSS after adding it of course. The final step of completing a bash load order is rebuilding the bashed patch. Back in the "Files" tab, right-click on the bashed patch. Since your load order is pretty straight forward, you should be safe checking the plugins' names under whichever section they appear. In fact, this load order probably does not need a bashed patch. Read the http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Bash.html for information on the different features it has, and it has a lot of them. Also, when you run BOSS and the log files pops up, you should read that as well. It will give you information about bash tags and compatibility. Your current load order will have those types of issues, but as you add mods the appear quickly.
