Mass Effect

They need to make a game mod that can put that on the side of the Normandy. That reveal scene in the beginning would be so EPIC! (lol)

That sounds like an incredibly easy texture mod to make, if I had the game for PC I could probably get the texture and do that in about ten minutes, provided I could find the font they've used. Drawing the letters by hand would take much longer, but it's still not that difficult to do. So anyone with basic Photoshop skills and the game files could do it really.

Hey, i never said I'd do that to her, I just said it'd be really easy to do it :P I'd rather rename her "Tali'Zorah nar Rayya vas Urge is awesome" or something like that...

After Quarians are renamed to "...vas [whatever]" the "nar [whatever]" part is dropped.

Btw, I'd totally rename her to "Tali'Zorah vas Ekki-Ekki-Ekki-Ekki Ptang Zoom-Boing Zow Zing Ni!".

Really? I just skimmed the wiki article once more and I didn't see anything about that. I'm pretty sure I've heard Tali refer to herself with both her pre and post pilgirmage name.

I got that impression for some reason. Maybe I've just misunderstood Quarian naming conventions.

I'm pretty sure though that it would still be either "Tali'Zorah vas Neema/Normandy" or "Tali'Zorah nar Rayya", but not both ("Tali'Zorah nar Rayya vas Neema/Normandy").

I may very well be wrong as well, but I've read almost every article on the Wiki and never saw that mentioned, it's of course possible I missed it, I'm not gonna pretend that I know everything about ME. Still though, I'm pretty sure the name isn't dropped, but when saying your name the new name overrides the old one because saying both would usually be too long, that's just a guess though. I don't think the name is ever completely dropped, Quarians value family and their birthship is a big part of that.

I'm perfectly willing to accept I'm wrong though.

No, actually you're right, http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Quarians#Language:
In certain formal situations, quarians appear to use both their advlt ship and childhood ship. At one point Tali identifies herself as "Tali'Zorah vas Neema nar Rayya."
, so that's why I didn't remember ever hearing both said together.

Yeah I thought I had seen that, turns out I didn't even look at that part of the article this time, but that explains why I remembered it.

When he said that, I was really hoping we would be able to give the Normandy any name we wanted.

I wasn't thinking that, but it was such an awesome moment. I felt like playing through Mass Effect 1, meeting Joker in ME2, and the music made the whole scene emotional and epic.

I've been watching Chuck so far and the show is awesome. Of course, I'm only watching because of Yvvone Strahovski (Miranda Lawson).

I liked the part where you got to use Joker in ME2. Seth Green was so funny in that bit, it literally made my LOL. God, I do hate using those stupid internet acronyms. But still, it was really funny and it was cool for a game to allow someone other than the big manly stud to save the day for a change. Although using the sprint or rush button or whatever its called with him was rather pointless.

I liked the suicide mission music in ME2. It was very fitting. Just thought I'd mention that.

I just bought ME and I'm loving it, I loved the soundtrack so much that I bought that too.
I only just got to the citadel and there are quite a few quests to do there, I'm trying to play this game really slowly and not rush through like I usually do, so I hope the level of quests keeps up.

On my very first playthrough, I was completely lost, and did not know what to do. However, when my friend taught me how to play the game, I instantly fell in love with it.

I'm liking how similar it is to KOTOR, but being in a different universe makes the mystery so much better.

One of the great advantages of playing Mass Effect 1 before 2 is being able to experience its magnificent universe, lore, and all that good stuff. It just enhanced the Mass Effect 2 experience so much.

Spoiler
For example, going back to the Joker and Normandy scene, I doubt it would have such an emotional impact on me if it weren't for Mass Effect. Same thing with Garrus. Even though I knew Garrus was in the game, the first time you talk to him made me extremely happy.

Probably rehashing an old topic but...

Did anyone else get nightmares after fighting the human/Reaper hybrid?

[censored] still [censored] haunts me. It's nightmare fodder.

The artist who came up with the concept is genius. Just looking at it sends chills through my spine.

Meh. I would have been more impressed if they'd kept the original design- the one where it actually, you know...
Spoiler
looks like a fetus.
Of course I can see how that might cause problems from a gameplay perspective, buuuuuuut.
Oh. Or if it tried to communicate- but at such an early age it just came across as either disconnected fragments or in such an alien format that listening to it would... cause physical pain, or something. That would have kicked so much ass, and made the fight far more interesting.

Instead, we got an

unfinished T-1000.

I am sorry, but... fail, Bioware. FAIL.

The fetus wasn't that scary. This one was just human enough that it was an absolute mind [censored]. You know, the point where something is so human, yet so unhuman enough that there is an adverse reaction. I can't get the eyes out of my mind.

i found the new reaper kind of, peculiar... none of the other reapers look like they were a pre-existing species, the other reapers looked like ships. unless the final touch would be to put it inside a ship like casing it doesn't seem right

Not really, I thought it looked to much like a Terminator, I know why it did, and there's not really that many good design choices for something like that, but I still felt that design was the weakest in the game.
