So, a massive DLC

Post » Sat Jan 08, 2011 3:26 am

I was thinking, would Bethesda do a big-time DLC like the shivering isle for Skyrim? Personally I would love to see A remastered Cyrodill, you never know what could have happened in them 200 years, or maybe a remastered Morrowind.

This might benefit Xbox360 and Ps3 users, who can't use mods?

I believe Beth has said that future DLCs will be at the FO3 level, or about the size of KotN for Oblivion.

I don't wanna see somewhere old, I want a new place to explore. Somewhere I haven't been before.

Haha. Yeah. Remastered Morrowind. Considering almost all of Vvardenfell was destroyed, there's not really a point in that now is there? I'd really really really really not want rehashing of areas we were just in. DLC could be used to add a lot of new stuff. If I want Cyrodiil, I'll play Oblivion.

I also don't see how a DLC like SI would benefit console users any more than PC users.

This.
Black Marsh or Elsweyr would be nice. maybe basing the main quest on the Blackwood company seeing as its mostly comprised of Kahjiits and Argonians

Oh =/ I was hoping for maybe one or two of that level and then a large expansion pack.

And I'd love to see what Morrowind is like now.

I wish people were more interested in new things instead of wanting the same thing rehashed over and over and over and over and over.

I really liked what they did with Bloodmoon (adding Solstheim). Hopefully they will do a DLC with a new landmass like that (though I don't see any easy options looking at the map, they could just make something up--i.e. a new island has appeared off the northwest coast).

That said, it looks like they are going a bit more piecemeal in terms of DLC. Given that restraint, KotN-like additions are welcome (though I didn't enjoy that one too much, for some reason). Also nice would be the addition of new settlements (maybe some that can grow into cities via player quests).

Also, one thing I missed from Morrowind was the strongholds. Obviously we have no idea about the scale of player-owned properties in Skyrim, but if they are not in the original I would LOVE to see them added via DLC with significant customization options. The castle DLC from Oblivion was very cool, but more options (i.e. in design/location) would be great.

Perhaps a trip to Atmora?

Do you have a link for this because this is very disappointing.

I agree with this. What I think would be amazing would be to head underneath skyrim into the caves that were shown in the TES Skyrim trailer. In search of a legendary dragonborn hero who went down their to fight a powerful dragon, Imagine a massive cave network with a huge underground city at the center. http://media.photobucket.com/image/underground%20city/BleachKing44/Awesome%20Pics/UndergroundCitywallpaper.jpg But in ruins with a few dragons & other creatures around.

At the end you'd come off with a unigue dragon shout from slaying the boss dragon at the end & some cool sets of weapons & armor all of which look legen..... (Wait for it!) ..........DARY!!!

Normally I'd agree but I am really interested in seeing the state morrowind is in now. Plus I'd rather the other regions of Tamriel be saved for full games, I don't think one DLC could do a region justice.

I would be thrilled to the the damages of the rest of Morrowind. I'm talking about the mainland, not Vvardenfell!

Of course thats the type of DLC we will see becuase its easier, cheaper, and gives a far bigger return.

Thats not to say Fallout 3 had bad DLC. In fact, Fallout 3 had some of the best "small" DLC I've seen from a game... but it was still lacking a lot of content compared to a full blown expansion IMO.

I don't mind small DLC so long as it's appropriately priced. I'm thinking $10 for something the size of Knights of the Nine.

A return to the ruins of Vivec or Mournhold would be neat...

1. Atmora. The ancient homeland of the Nords. The origin of the first of mankind in Tamriel.

2. Somewhere else with a unique environment. Not something that has been done before for a specific game or DLC. So no Oblivion, Solstheim or Vvardenfell. If I want to play that, I'd install those games and play them.

Yokuda (lore is ambiuous enough they could do plenty of things with it) or Roscrea would be good IMO. Or part of High Rock, perhaps where Orsinium is located.

I think when people say Morrowind they aren't talking about Vvardenfell since it is destroyed. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if all of Morrowind is destroyed, but if not, adding the northwest section of Morrowind's mainland (Blacklight and surrounding area), would be a "new" area, would make sense and would just move Skyrim's boundaries a few clicks east.

Of course they could also go west as well. Adding one of the High Rock or Hammerfell border cities would be neat, such as Dragonstar or Jehanna, according to the latest map.

Solstheim is another perfectly acceptable and suitable location. Roscrea could work as well.

I think I would too, but I doubt it will happen. Traditional expansions are going dodo in favor of DLC.

You mean expansion? Then yes of course!

To MW or Cyrodiil? NTY been there.

Also your location says "Mery old England." Might want to correct that.:)

DLC's aren't the same thing as an Expansion though. But I doubt that'd be a DLC, seems way too big.
