Massive mod conflict

This particular issue actually sound a little familiar. There was something with OOO... A user was crashing when using a certain enchanted sword. What weapon are you using? Isn't enchanted or does it have a scripted effect?

Edit: Does this happen with any weapon?

It's happening on a brand new character. I have crashed using silver bow, fine iron bow and short-sword i think they were, silver mace, and even hand to hand nothing is enchanted.
Yeah basically all weapons including fists.

Could you post your current LO and also update to v293 and do the non-CBash rebuild? I don't think this is a Bash issue. I'll see if I can point out the script-centric mods that you might want to try disabling.

I went back to 293 and so far I haven't been able to get a bash patch created I keep getting errors. First error said there was a load error with quest lever knights of the nine, second error I missed before wrye crashed.

Not surprising there, the last time I looked at a copy of that mod it had corrupted entries in it.

Not surprising there, the last time I looked at a copy of that mod it had corrupted entries in it.

Really? I have not problems with it. Are we talking about the same mod? (Quest Award Leveller - Knights Of The Nine.esp)

1. Download the GNU tarball from here: http://oblivionworks.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/oblivionworks/Programs/Wrye%20Bash/

2. Move your bash.ini (if you modified it) to your desktop or something.

3. Delete the Mopy folder.

4. Extract the tarball archive.

5. Copy the Mopy and Data folders into your Oblivion folder. Allow it to overwrite and merge everything.

6. Try rebuilding the patch again.

I'm currently rebuilding my patch sans the group you listed, but before that I found out using magic on anything not inanimate crashes me too.

Did you say this issue went away with Oblivion XP? All I can think is that this has something to do with how damage or something is being calculated, which sounds like skill-related mod. I can also think...UI conflict. Are Oblivion XP's menu being overwritten?

It crashed with the last group removed still.

All right, try from the other end. Enable groups at a time to expedite this process. You should be fine adding BC, AN, DLCs, UOPs, Armamentarium, , RAEVWD, COBL. Try adding those. Then add back all of your quest mods. After doing that, there shouldn't be too many more mods to try, right?


This process is always a pain... :L

Yup, that's the one I use. It hasn't been updated in a while though. :/ It looks like I haven't cleaned it either. I don't recall seeing a message in BOSS either...??? I'll check.

Edit: Yup, no message about it needing cleaning in the BOSS log, and I haven't done anything with it.

Edit: It's super clean. Only contains the one script record patching the script in KoTN.

@Janariel, , no disrespect intended, but I feel your not really getting anywhere quickly.
There currently are issues with version 293 and I don't think your at the stage right now that you want to be involved with multi variations of patch building, troubleshooting or indeed beta testing.
For now, I strongly advise that you revert back to Wrye Bash 291 which was the last stable version, rebuild your patch and just play.
I'm sure the guys involved with Wrye Bash will resolve the current issues within the next few days. :wink_smile: Then would be the right time to go current and rebuild the patch with all the latest tweaks.

That would be nice if I could actually play. I reverted back to 291 and I still had the crash and now I'm using 294 and nothing has changed. Thanks for trying though.
Thanks for helping Tom but I am at a complete loss now. I am still crashing when I hit anyone. Here is last tested LOD. Each time I test its on a brand new game, i don't have any saves since I haven't been able to play yet, but the last time I started a new game the screen went white then crashed. So I restarted the game and everything was fine except for the crashing when I hit people.

Geez. Strip everything except for FCOM, BC and Quests. Make sure you're saving so that you can use Diff Master if and when you get a game going without the issue.

That would be nice if I could actually play. I reverted back to 291 and I still had the crash and now I'm using 294 and nothing has changed.


Okay so you went from the standlaone version to 294 version.

Did you remove the standalone version first before , installing either python03a or python04 packages and then 293, then upgrade with SVN 294 Version ?

I agree strip down to base fcom, buld patch, start a new character, and verify fcom is stable, then slowly adds your mods back in , rebulding patch, each time, and verifying that game is stable along the way..

Now Slowly Reactivate Mod's and rebuild your patch each time. I would add back in Race Related Stuff at this point..Test..Then Magic Related Stuff..rebuild..then Deadly Reflex etc last..

I dont have any passed saves, so I am making one. But I would imagine the differences would be almost everything since there isnt much in the load order now.

Remember, you incrementally cut things out. All we care about are the differences between that load order and that last non-working load order before it. You'd already eliminated many mods as possible causes (i.e., LAME add-ons, DP's mods, etc).

Next time, make saves each time you test because then you can quickly pull up a record about your changes. It cuts down on memory effort and lost information. ^___^

Really? I have not problems with it. Are we talking about the same mod? (Quest Award Leveller - Knights Of The Nine.esp)

1. Download the GNU tarball from here: http://oblivionworks.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/oblivionworks/Programs/Wrye%20Bash/

2. Move your bash.ini (if you modified it) to your desktop or something.

3. Delete the Mopy folder.

4. Extract the tarball archive.

5. Copy the Mopy and Data folders into your Oblivion folder. Allow it to overwrite and merge everything.

6. Try rebuilding the patch again.
