Massive screen tearing

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 1:52 pm

I have a copy of vanilla Morrowind for my PC, however, I seem to get absurd amounts of screen tearing whenever I play the game, and it happens almost everywhere, and all the time. Is there any sort of v-sync option to fix it?

You can turn v-sync on when using MGE. I believe that video card drivers should have that option too.

Does MGE require Bloodmoon and Tribunal? I do not have those expansions.

"Oficially" it requires them, but it requires the .exe itself to be patched up to 1.6.1820, not the game content. Someone shoul point how to do such patching.
Or just try the drivers.

The 1.6.1820 executable contains references to some resources, such as snowflakes, which must be present (by filename). If you want to run the updated executable without the expansions, you'll need replacement files.

However, most things now do not support MW-only, as it is obsolete and a supermajority of users have both expansions. You should get the expansions.
