Now before some of you start bit--Ching and griping about being stuck to a throne, once you hit the officer ranks it's completely voluntary on whether or not you want to move up any higher and whether you do or not does not stop progression in the questline, and this time it's more of a occupation than something to do just so you can kill sh-it. You get paid daily for being in service and your rank gives you a bonus, along with successful sieges.
Back to the rank structure, ever get tired of just sitting there as a legate and you have an entire fort full of your guys and a full enemy encampment down the road but didn't want to do it alone? Why not command an assault on the objective, or set up your own encampment not to far away from the enemy and start working to take over a hold or a well guarded village.
Things like this imo would have made the civil war questline so much better, I also have 2 more ideas. You know how general tullius and Rikke in the beginning just put stuff on the map and watch it happen, I'd like that as well, for times when your god I'm tired of déjà vu, order the attack and watch to see if you'll be successful or fail, nothing too complex though. The last one is having men garrison an old fort.
You know how your just out and a about and you run by this fort full of mages and clear it out, but at the same time it's the perfect position to set up and ambush enemies transporting prisoners. Also before I here people bit--Ching about npcs getting in the way it's just an option to order the attack no ones stopping you from being Rambo. Like I said it's just some ideas for TES VI and to improve on skyrims so called civil war that was damn near pointless doing.
