Master Alteration worth it?

Post » Sat Dec 03, 2011 4:09 am

So I'm trying to finallize my char build perk wise and I kind of at an empass. With the points I need to save for smithing and enchanting I'm going to be 1-2 short from somewhere no matter how I do it so basicly is the expert and master rank spells of alteration all that good or should I skimp from something else? Only other place I could really take from is conjuration so as a side question if you had that choice master conjuration or master alteration which would you pick and why?

conjuration i assume if far superior to alteration , it certainly looks it so far for my mage.

I was wondering the same as OP about alteration , would like all 5 magic skills as my pure mage . But alteration looks kind of meh. The other 4 schools i get use out of but alteration i cant find a good use for.

I wish they kept leviatate and fortify jump too but eh what are you gonna do. Seriously though besides the apprentice lvl armor buff I'm not seeing alot of use from alteration but I havnt unlocked expert or master yet so any input on what spells are available at those high ranks would be appriciated.

I really enjoyed the high jumping in Morrowind and also the feather falling.

Me too it was my favorite feature of the game and one of the reasons I fell in love with the series. Was so disapointed when they removed it all for no good reason in oblivion

Having specialised in Alteration rather than Conjuration, I can tell you that I made a mistake IMO

What I will say is that some of the perks - magic resistance and absorb - are really, really good.

But not as good as having bad ass atronachs

I think my non-perked conjuration is more powerful than my perked alteration, bizarrely

Back before release weren't people hollering that telekinesis was going into alteration ?

Now the only remotely similar thing is shout only.
