Master Difficulty - Magic Enemies

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:28 pm

Nothing poses much of a threat to my character on Master except magic. Seems like they can kill me almost instantly. Is there any suggestions on how to minimize damage received? i usually resort to cheap tactics like freezing them and then killing them before getting up or jugging potions to absorb the hits. I thought of resist magic enchantment, put the percent is fairly low and you can only enchant on a few select item types and i do not use shields.

I guess potions help but i want something more permanent.

Lord stone sign for 25%, magic resist enchants on ring and necklace for 25% each, alternation perk for 10%/15%/20%, agent of mara quest for 15% are some ways to permanently boost your magic resist.

Cap is at 85% so use anycombination of the above but don't bother going beyond that.

get the 15% resistance quest (the book of love), lord stone, and alteration perks OR resist gear.

or

slow time(rank3) shout helps me kill a room of several hard casters b4 they can shoot once. If the battles are too consecutive put on a 20% talos amulet + talos blessing = very high up time.

When first starting out on master its usually best to get a follower to tank for you in the early levels, particularly if you plan on attacking forts that have several magic users blasting you at the same time.

After you level up a bit you can either enchant some resist gear as stated above or you can go find some on venders, not to hard to find.

lol :P , thats a visual bug i think, i'm sure it works. look at your shout times with it on and off.

but still stacking those magical resist passives is probably the best bet.

The alteration perk is actually 10%, 20%, 30% (or so it says in game on the PC). You can also play a Breton for 25% magic resist (even though the loading screen claims 50%).

Best bet is to go breton (50% 25%? mag res) and lord standing stone (25%). Then just find a random early on ring that gives 10% magic resistance and you will survive twice as many fancy light-shows :D

sweet thanks for the responses. Ill get the stone and do the mara quest. I will need to get 100 enchantment for the addition ring/amulet enchantment, dont wanna sacrifice damage output. Dont know if i have enough perks to offer for the alteration though; but ill try. Once i get 85% magic resist, my character will be unstoppable
