Master support build

Post » Sun Jan 23, 2011 8:03 pm

This build is for the ultimate support character. The devs have said you can play without firing a shot, this set up is all about this concept.

Abilities gained:
1) Supplies Max increase
2) Battle hardened
3) Combat Intuition
4) Sense of Perspective
5) Supplies boost (medic) believed ability
6) Kelvar plate (engineer)
7) Firewall (operative)
8) Adrenaline (medic)
9) Armor piercing ammo (Soldier)
10) Upgrade command post (Engineer)
11) Scavenger (Soldier)
12) Incendiary ammo (Soldier)
13) ???
14) Silent Running
15) Improved life boost (Medic)
16) Improved damage boost (Engineer)
17) Self resurrection (Medic)
18) ???
19) ???
20) Lazarus Grenade (medic)

5 universal abilities, 5 medic abilities, 3 engineer, 3 Soldier and 1 operative with 3 extra abilities

We are still missing a couple of abilities so its subject to change.

As far as playing classes its medic>soldier>engineer>operative.

Playing as a light you can continually keep your teammates buffed and resupplied. Also the firewall/boost command post to ensure the most gain for the entire team.

So what do you think?

Well, if you want to be a team player, go for it. Maximizing your team's effectiveness is important.

The problem with this is that there is no killing involved....

Medic's fleet of foot - Boosts teammate's running speed. It's rank 3.

Sure there is, since all classes can use the same weapons. This build is simply less focused on killing, and doesn't take abilities that help it kill; it can still kill when needed, though.

This looks like a build I might use, with maybe a few offensive abilities (2 or 3).

Although not firing at enemies when the opportunity presents itself seems like a waste...

Especially if you're all alone and you get a nice view of an engie and his turret with their backs to you.

Well for starters we know that Brink is a team based game,no?
Then we know that support actions give moooore XP than killing,so i don't see it as a problem, concerning Brink that is.

If it was another usual FPS i would agree seen it as problem. For now it exellent,i may start with it instead operative i think :)

But...if you cannot mow down a group of people with miniguns, sentrys and explosives...whats the point?

As a ninja medic, I have to help keep my teamates alive. However, I don't have unlimited pips to heal/revive with so killing the people who are killing my teamates will have to do.

Only medic abilities I like so far:
Upgraded health boost
Self revive
Laz Nade
Supplies transfer
Pips refill faster one.

This statement makes no sense seeing as a Heavy body type will have alot more pips to continually buff and resupply there team if you were going to compose a complete support class I think you would want to be a heavy for the extra pips getting to an objective before anyone doesnt really matter if your focused on support only.

I believe they changed it to all bodytypes have the same pips and pip regen rate awhile ago.

Well he made reference to what Devs said, firstly.
Secondly a match lasts how much?10 minutes? If u want die once in 10 minutes and u are out of siringes start shooting or something or change to a CP.

I'm just saying that in the end support builds like that ... should be bookmarked and tested :)

Really Horses wiki still has it saying that from what I was just reading just read a few quotes talking about it. Anyways why would they do that it completely negates one of the biggest benefits to being a heavy over a light or medium.

By `pips`, you mean supply and not health?

Hopefully it`s not something crazy now, like lights having the same health as heavies...

No lights would not have the same health as heavies, that is the whole downside to being a light, having reduced health.
