Matches are too short to enjoy :(

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:02 am

Does anyone else feel that multiplayer matches are way too short to enjoy?

I’ve noticed the average multiplayer match length is 4-6 minutes and half that time I’m spending my time sneaking around trying to get sneaky kills and by the end of the match I only have like 2 kills >.< they need to make matches last at least 10 minutes. Who agrees?

Why so you have time for your sneaky kills? xDD

8 vs 8 are to many on a small map..
6 vs 6 was great! And that made the map(round) last longer.

I agree match are far too short enjoy. Just when battle start to gain dynamic it's cut of. 4-5 minutes per match is way to short, if you consider waiting, voting and loading time 1/5 of the time you are waiting for the next match to begin.

Average 15 minutes would be agreeable timeframe for a struggle in bed or online.

Yup, agree. Too short. Had a round that ended in 2 minutes today, it was not fun especially with the almost 2 minutes wait as well for the next round, with the lobby time, loading and match countdown.

Server admins, start getting some decent servers working instead of the default configs.

Bring back 6v6 maximum Imo, made it all more fun. 8v8 is way too chaotic and the smaller maps can't support it at all.

I think there still are a few 6v6 servers...but mostly you find 8v8. I dont get why Crytek didn't stick to 6v6 at max. Even the Crysis-box promises: "intensive 6v6 Multiplayer..."
8v8 is just too much...the probability to get spawnkilled or shot in the back is just so much higher especially on small maps like e.g. skyline...and that's so annoying <.<

Its not 8v8 that make the games to short, its the score limits, should be to 100 and 200 kills / points for other game types. Some maps feel way to small for 16 others feel way to big for 12, but either way its the score thats super limiting imo.

And yes I'm aware you can mod it per server, but i've only encountered like 3x that actually have.

TIA and Crash games need to be longer.

The games are so short that they limit a team from coming back if they are behind.

Yes, some of the matches can be short to enjoy (like Team Instant Action) and I agree with those here that are saying the 8v8 is bad. The game was clearly built with the idea of 6v6 and it's ONLY the PC version that has had this change (through patch or whatever). It's thrown things like the smaller maps (Skyline for example) into complete chaos with you getting attacked so frequently from behind. We also have no idea if this was even tested well and it could be causing more issues (like worse lag overall).
