I don't have OCD, but I normally would want my weapons to match too.

My last character wore all Heavy Dawnguard Armor and dual wielded a Stalhrim Waraxe and the Dawnguard Rune Axe (amazing weapon, though it takes way to long to get).

for some reason i always use sword and dagger when dual wielding. Maybe im a traditionalist heh. two axes would seem cool too, i'll try that one as well.

Just got Dawnguard, and I'm in love with the armour :D

And the crossbow, of course ;)

I also like matching armor and weapons.

I have got blades swords and after destroying the thieves guild (thanks to a mod) I am now wearing thieves guild master armor.

My thief character also wears thieves guild master armor, but uses forsworn blades.

There are too many Perks in this game that want you to wear matching sets to forgo matching sets. In Morrowind, my characters wore a mish-mash of armors from various materials and types. It could be down to looks or enchantments or whatever. Oblivion started to discourage mixing it up, then Skyrim has carried on that theme.

So, if the game would not punish me for it, I would use armors based on what they do, not that they match.

I'm the exact opposite. I can't stand to wear matching sets. It think it started for me in Morrowind. In Morrowind you could mix-n-match right and left boots, pauldrons, bracers, as well as different greaves and cuirass and you could mix all of this with clothes as well. I used to love creating odd combinations of clothes and armor. It was kind of a creative outlet for me, I think.

I have missed the freedom to dress my characters idiosyncratically ever since.

Maybe I'm just stubborn, but I refuse to wear matching sets of armor just because the game tries to force me to. And I don't take those perks that give you bonuses for matching sets of armors because I never wear helmets, and you have to go through the helmet perk to get to the matching set perk. I wind up brewing and using a lot of health potions because my characters don't have the armor ratings they would otherwise have, but I guess that's the price I pay for being stubborn and doing it my way.
