How do you know this though? Just curious.

Elk droppings.

Though, in another way I suppose he is, isn't he? One other thing I can confirm, is Orkey is a totem. Old Knocker is a much more vital mythological figure than he is sometimes given credit. From what I understand I think we are getting close though.

Elk droppings.
If we're going to start confirming/denying, we might as well post the actual list. I'll ask.

Wouldn't an authoritative, Word of God list run slightly antithetical to the ES ethos? I probably did overstep my mark here, but it was in an effort to obfuscate and confuse matters, not settle them. I'll shut up now. What does posting the full list really give us?

Some further contradictory lore on the other hand..

Not to mention Kyne apparently needed a male dragon's help to teach men how to shout.
Well considering dragons do not reproduce I think it's safe to assume that they have no gender.

A. There is so much disagreement on this topic because of how none of the lists quite fit. I honestly wonder if Beth even had a one-to-one logical correlation in mind, or if they simply knew they needed Nine (six males, three females), and decided to pick nine Nordish animals to match broadly.

B. I'm afraid MK's new connection with the Mundusphere will lead to many such questions and Nietzschean 'louts in the holy place.' I feel that the balance of nature is tenuous and unsettled. Such questions should be preemptively 'stuffed' by any potential asker, in the future, Imho, lest the Barriers be sundered, and something like this happens:

If Shor is a snake, why is Talos trying to kill him in that statue?

Talos mantled Shor. in the statue he is dominating the snake, keeping it under his boot and at the tip of his sword. he's replacing the snake, not trying to kill it.

that's my take on it anywhos. probably doesn't make sense within the cultural context seeing as how revered Shor is. though it is weird that there are no shrines to Shor but there are to Talos, so maybe Talos is viewed as Shor's replacement... a hip reimagining that you can get the kids excited about.

The moths are the butterflies of the night
I am almost certain Dibella is a moth now:
a) moths have pretty colors
 moths consume nectar from flowers, which are Dibella's symbol since Daggerfall
c) I am almost certain there's some kind of subliminal message behind the moth's proboscis and flowers, which is very much related to Dibella.

But...
If Shor is a snake, why is Talos trying to kill him in that statue?
And wouldn't it make more sense to have Ysmir as one of the 9 instead of Arkay/Orkey?

In that statue the serpent is a more generical symbol of the evil, it's not a particular deity.

I think that the Snake is actually Orkey, and the Fox is Shor, since Shezarrines are described as foxes.
