Extend BC and EF to intersect at O and let X be a circle with center O and radius OM. Let P be a point on X such that O and P lies on the same side of CD. Prove that angle OPF = angle OEP

best thing you can do is try to draw out the lines as describe in the problem, it gets easier from there, but figuring out exactly what they intended the picture to appear for you is the hardest part

Maybe it's related to another question and the diagram is there?

My advice is just to tell your teacher you don't know wtf to do. I'm sure he/she'll understand and help you. That's kinda what they're there for.

But if EF is parallel to AD, and BC is parallel to AD, then BC is parallel to EF and the two can't intersect? :bonk:

You should tell your teacher to formulate better. Quadrilateral can be any shape with 4 straight lines, but this one assumes that BC is not paralell with AD, like in a cube for example. I'll try and solve it with no lines paralell to one another and neither DC nor AB having a right angle to EF. The angle FOP will not be right either. Might be that's not possible and you need à right angle there, but the question suggests the solution should work with any form of the quadrilateral given.

But really you shouldn't say anything to your teachers that have" bad" and" teacher" within a three word range of eachother. That's asking for trouble.

Teachers who give word problems like that are bad teachers. No one in real life (that you would have to work with anyway...) would be stupid enough to do that without drawing a picture to show you what they mean.

Still.. I remeber in Eigth Grade, I pointed out a major flaw in my english teachers way of organising.. well I can't remember. But everyone but her agreed.

"You know what? When you go through college, you can come up here and teach."

At that point, I wanted to say, "Nah, im not going to stick myself into a job that I hate unlike you;" thank god I managed to keep my big mouth shut. The grudge she held on me was already bad...

Point being. Getting one of your teachers personally PO'd at you, no matter how horrible there logic is or how wrong they were, will bite you in the butt.. hard... you will need stitches.

Yesterday in a tutorial I pointed out to my lecturer that he'd accidentally put an answer in kV instead of V. He thanked me, changed it on his master copy, then went round and told the rest of the people who'd bothered turning up.
