No matter how good the game is, it shouldn't get a perfect 1

There couldn't be a worse reason I can think of to deny a game whatever score it would otherwise deserve.

But I hate how easy people hand out 10's, I'm not going to say there should be no 10's, but if you give out 1 a week or 1 a month they lose all meaning.

I personally don't really care about that... because it's not like you're gonna walk around and look at your own body in 1st person. I mean, if you want to see yourself just go into 3rd person.

It would be nice, but I don't care much. There are much more important "must have" features for me.

I can't believe people still buy into that trite nonsense. Only amateurs break things down into several categories and assign arbitrary numbers to each of them (likely pulled out of their own ass). What makes a game isn't it's graphics. Or the music. But how the developers blended them all together to create an enjoyable experience. A game might not have ultra photo realistic graphics. So why punish it even if it was still beautifully done to fit the style and direction the game was aiming for? One game might not even have any music at all. So your focus easily shifts to the atmospheric sound effects of it's world. Etc

So you're basically saying that the Oscar's amateur? There's a "The best movie award" but that's only one prize, all the other prizes are categorized by music, best outfits, etc. And yes, it's the same, because you can say that same about movies. "Only amateurs break things down into several categories and assign arbitrary numbers to each of them (likely pulled out of their own ass). What makes a [MOVIE] isn't it's graphics. Or the music. But how the developers blended them all together to create an enjoyable experience." See the resembles?

It has to be categorized, and I don't really think you know how it works... so... you know, ask around professional reviewers sites and you'll see for yourself.

EDIT: And by the way, I don't know if you know this or not, but these categories are ALSO about how it all fits together, if the graphics are dark and the music is happy, you'll see it in the review, and the score will degrade accordingly.

When you look down you have no legs. That is my biggest problem with 90% of all First-person games. The only ones I can think that have that are Halo, Mirror's Edge, Crysis, and maybe Bulletstorm. I hate it so much. Hell, I'd love it if when you look down you see you chest, all the way down to your feet. Most people don't care about this, but this is all the realism I need in any FP game.

inb4 don't look down. jog on.

I could see how this would add to realism, and i wouldnt mind this implamented in Skyrim at all.
When you go for a jog or a run, you can see your feet in your periferals.
I would like to see something like this in Skyrim.

It's a problem when in a RP game you change armor types, some bigger, some smaller. Plus, they interrupt your vision in some way. So it's different than a game that your character only switches weapons.

agreed. but if they implemented a kicking ability (which i doubt they did) then it would be feasible. but thats something i dont even care about. im not in 1st person to look at my legs. if i want to see my legs ill switch to 3rd.

None of the games mentioned let you change armor, or race, or really anything about the character you play except weaponry. A game on the scale of the average Elder Scrolls experience would be nightmarish to implement for the programmers. It would probably also look as awful as the games the "feature" is already in. The things never look decent.

why do people always complian about the legs, this compalint can go on forever, the legs are in why cant i see my shoulders, or go crosseyed and stare at my nose,

if they add legs they should also add everything

one thing i would like is the choice to have helmets abstuct your view

This. I mean who wants to see just legs? That would be unreal or you have one messed up bone structure. Half the reason legs aren't often in games because it makes no sense to have just legs and having the whole body logic would be somewhat hard. But of course that itsn't to say i would love having a helm vision and being able to see the full body, It would be nice if they added a option to have helm veiw or not like in bioshock.
So helm veiw should be a opion, just legs looks silly and full body would be tricky. Oh and for ratings, I believe that 10 do happen but it takes a game like 4 years to get, for being playable and still enjoyed after a long period of time, like giving it a 9.5 at the start and giving it the full 10 in like 4 years.

I know there is bigger issues. I didn't say the only reason the game should not get a perfect score is based off the legs. There could be 100 other reasons Skyrim won't get a perfect score. If there are no legs, then make that 101 reasons. No matter how good the game is, if there are no legs in FP view then it can't ever be perfect.

You basicly just argued with yourself lol

This is one of the reasons I play in 3rd person. People say 1st person is more immersive, but it's the opposite for me. It completely breaks my ability to feel like I'm in a world. After all, I'm not a floating right hand with a sword or gun in it.

Honestly I lose immersion more when I throw a cup against the wall and it doesn't break.

I suppose the lack of seeing your feet, legs, waist, chest may make it seem like you are just a floating head with arms, but I've never had that problem.

I'd also like to be able to see my feet. Like others have pointed out, I also kind of feel like "a pair of floating hands" when I look down, which can at times be sad for my game experience.

Unless the animations are REALLY good, I'd rather let my imagination do the job. i don't want to see my legs in a "walking" animation when i'm climbing a mountain.

Oblivion for the pc is the only game I'd give a 10/10.

Skyrim for the pc will probably be the second one.

Couldn't care less about a review score, or being able to see my legs. Hopefully Beth works on putting actual gameplay options and variety back in, not pointless aesthetics.

mount and blade has it..and lets you change armor, and that was developed by a small indie studio...so willl everyone stop saying its hard to do! lol

I'd love to see this...I hate being a floating camera...but I'll still enjoy the game if they dont

Who cares, its not that big of a deal, Skyrim is not going to get points knocked off just for you not being able to look down at your legs or feet.

Yes, the Halo games allowed you to see your feet. And the fact that I was completely unaware of it until someone here mentioned it and I went back looking specifically for that should say everything necessary about how important I find it to be.

To be clear: I couldn't possibly care any less about having or not having visible feet. (But I do agree with whoever said lack of visible feet was the worst possible reason to deny an "otherwise" perfect game a score it deserves.)

Go play Dark Messiah, then come back and apologize. It looks great in that game.

Also, a lone guy was able to mod first person into GTAIV, and damned if it isn't the best first person I've seen. You can see the character's entire body. I'm pretty sure you can change clothing in that game, some of it being drastically different, and the first person still works without any problems.

I dont really like to see the legs, I mean if you want to do that you can go into third, but first person should be kinda be maximized so that you see the game and not much of the actual character
