Max problem - Quad Menu

Post » Sat Jun 05, 2010 2:05 am

Using Gmax but 3DS Max should be the same. Suddenly I can't right-click in a viewport. Right-click should bring up the GMax equiv of the quad menu. I can right-click in other areas but not in the viewports. Anyone have an idea if there is a control somewhere in the app that enables/disables the quad menu?

Nevermind - After spending an hour searching the web and resetting the UI over and over I finally rebooted and it just started working again.

I remember Gmax lacking many of those nicer 3dsmax features, but maybe things have improved a bit since them.

At any rate, good to see you back in the community and working on stuff again.

Obviously you no longer have any way to check, but I'd be more inclined to think the right mouse button action had been re-assigned to something else, than that you had an issue directly related to the quad menus. Do you have any scripts that might try to catch the right click?

HB - what OS are you using and if Win7 are you using an animated desktop App ? -- IIRC the Win7 app that makes the screen background change at intervals will sometimes interfere with the use of the active viewports

GMax is a dead product. Hasn't been updated in years. As far as I can tell there is no way to disable the Quad Menu itself so I didn't do that accidently. I haven't modified the hotkeys either. I'm still on XP-32bit. It was just some bug. Rebooting fixed it. Cause unknown.

Well it got (3) of my favorite modders to reply so I guess it was a good thing. Cheers guys :foodndrink:
