Business model has nothing to do with their relationship with the consumer, their practices give them best profitability which is exactly what ANY business would do.

Bad consumer relationship means less profits. They make most of thier money from console folks who don't know any better.
Unfortunatly EA has bought out (and also ruined) a lot of the good gaming companies which makes it difficult to dodge them. That will change soon. They can only pissed people off for so long before it begins to hit them where it counts (in the wallet). Just aslong as the government doesn't see fit to give them a bail out at that time they will have to change or sink. :D

>Implying the PC gamers wouldn't bich about waiting a month, call the devs sellouts, and be generally petulant

Some people are going to bich regardless, dude. I suggest that there would be far less whining if the PC games released were actually games designed for PC's. As for you, what a sad case you must be to assume the worst of so many people.

Realistically you're correct, the reality is people obviously don't care enough or the consumers would stop buying EA titles.

It takes time sometimes. The pressure is building. Just wait and see.

I skipped page 2, but you guys are blaming the wrong people. EA are the ones to blame. Dont get me wrong, they have a great business model and really do support their companies. BUT, they dont half demand a lot and push games out on tight deadlines. Just look at BF:BC2, Dice got the same treatment if you ask me.

Hit reg here is just as bad too :P

Bishdark if you had read page 2 you would have seen this.

In its current state the PC version is unfinished. Its more than likely a rush job caused by the release date EA set. They are trying to finish it as fast they can and still give us the feature left to add in a quality manner. I would rather wait for a quality feature than have something that is very buggy and cant use my GPU the way it should be like BC2.

I couldn't have said it better. I agree completely and gladly would have waited for a later release. I told my girlfriend about this game 2 years ago, and how I couldn't wait for it to be released. That it would BLOW her mind once she saw it. Well, she's seen it and she wasn't impressed one bit. She felt other games she's seen me play looked alot better than Crysis2.

On the matter of hit registration it is all client side like the previous crysis games. Shoot where you see them and if the hit reg is bad blame your ping or their ping. But most of everything in crysis games are done client side. The servers actually handle very little thats why the game benefits from SSDs because so much is directly off the hard drive.

Hence why crysis 2 has a very closed and limited environment.

ALTHOUGH!!!! Farcry 2 was a pretty open environment...

Whats bull **** is Crysis sold like crazy. WHY they would not just try to OWN the PC game industry (which has few major players right now) seems stupid to me.

I hope they get raqed for console sales. I know the PC sales must svck...

That being said, where do people find sales figures these days?

maybe this:

Not to get too political...but it's like Socalized healthcare. Everyone gets the same thing, crappy health care. People who had great or ok healthcare get crappy healthcare, people who didn't now have crappy healthcare.

Well for some countries that works well, whereas for other is just blasphamy if you even propose someting like that.

Now if only I could actually play this game I'm criticizing so much to see if my anger is warranted. Sadly still waiting on them to fix the multi GPU flicker and broken motion-blur bugs I have.

Intresting about the skin shaders in Crysis 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy47AbcmXQg&feature=related

Forget about the skin shaders, just listen to the whole barrel full of **** they were spewing out about Intel Quads/Nvidia and Windows Vista!! Now we all know that Crysis DX10 was pure **** and offered no more than the DX9 version, but I do also understand that all meant big money for Crytek development, which I'm sure none of us would have turned down if in their position.
But still, it shows Yeri doesn't mind getting on camera and throwing out some **** to svcker his potential customers.

MAXIMUM PROFIT

At the end of the day if they dump on PC's too much then they will be stuck developing for the same old consoles for the next five years, which is when the next xbox is roughly scheduled for. And they have said themselves there is nothing left to squeeze out of that console so there will be no progression, just churning out variations of the same games, and I can't see a company like Crytek wanting to do that - they're just in it for some quick mega bucks. I can understand that, 3 million sales from Crysis just isn't enough obviously!

I think they'll come good in the end but the pressure they must get from the likes of EA is putting them in this position and really ruining their credibility.

It would be much more better for PC gamers (the 80% of Crysis 2 owners) to create PC-exlusive high-poly models, or simply enable tassellation.

You can NEVER have enough tassels in a game for my liking! ;)

Bells, Tassels, Whistles - I want them all!

MAXIMUM TASSELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Erm, no actually. Yes it's what any Corporation would do though, because Corporations have put us in the marvellous world we are all enjoying right now - Yay for them!

BF3 will require a dx11 hardware, but only 512mb one minimum.

They'll make sure their game scales for lower spec, and consoles, while still providing the high-end graphical options for those with the hardware for it.

Unlike this game which only gives one option and that's the one that runs on low spec xbox.

Battlefield 3 is a console port. Get used to it. PC gamers are too poor from buying $600 gpus to buy games.

Not to mention all the Pre-release Alpha in-game footage they've been releasing is recorded with PC gameplay.

They learned form BC2 that the PC was not a dead gaming community and decided to listen to what the players wanted for their next title this is all thats happening with that.

Even on a buisness stand point its fkin retarded.

Would you rather want a consistent amount of consumers buying your stuff or just make money in one go and look for new customers each time?
