Maxing personality

Post » Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:40 pm

Hi!

I just started playing this great game a couple of months ago after finding goty edition on a flea market and have a couple of questions:
How is it possible that I haven't played this game before? I mean even now seven years after it came out it's still insanely good and addictive! I won't make any comparison to Skyrim though (I have been reading this forum for a while now) ;)
And then to the real question: How much of an affect does maxing out personality have on otherwise hostile creatures not attacking you? I read about this on UESPWiki and I don't think I want to raise personality to a point were hostile creatures and NPCs stop attacking me when the should(?).

I honestly can′t answer this. Either you must have been unconscious or living under a rock on Mars  But congrats on finding this gem and may you have many fun hours with it! (Which I know you will  )

And then to the real question: How much of an affect does maxing out personality have on otherwise hostile creatures not attacking you?
If it′s high enough, many hostile beings will stop attacking you on sight. For animals to stop though, it has to be roughly 180, according to the wiki. Personality also affects the prizes in shops and how NPC:s greet you in the streets. Also, they are more inclined to tell you secrets if they like you enough.

Welcome to the forums and have a traditional http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg!

I have no doubt that I will. I have been playing roughly 50 hours and there's no end in sight ;)

I quess I'll try to max it then but will probably leave it last. Maybe the only real problem is making your character under-powered when trying to max personality too soon as it doesn't really make him/her stronger.

Welcome to the forums and have a traditional fishy stick!

Thank you very much :)

50hrs, huh? I have close to 1700 now. On one character

Personality can be raised through enchantments/potions/spells too if you want to focus more on the combat skills. Then again if you do focus on Personality then you can always make powerful offensive/defensive spells and weapon enchantments, so combat is never a real problem.
I have found very little use for Personality myself, but if you want your character to be well-liked than I say go for it! :)

Thank you very much
You′re welcome
