It's not being worked on atm unfortunately.
If you only want to use the models (no animation), you could easily export to a format like .obj or .3ds then export them to .nif using Blender, or import the .obj or .3ds files with NifSkope I guess.
I'm not sure if it's possible to tranfser maya animations into Blender, but if so, I suppose that could possibly provide a means of getting your animations into Morrowind too.
I guess you could try posting on the niftools forum or asking in their IRC channel of what methods they know of or prefer.
