Maybe it's just me, but the 'improvements' are underwhelming

For clarity, I'm currently playing this on the PS4.

The draw distance is noticeably better, the foliage is noticeably thicker and some carvings on buildings are more clear compared to what they were last gen, but it's not really a vast improvement to what we had last gen. The character models still look low res at times, the cobbled paths still look the same and many other of the visual aspects of the game are no different to what we got last gen.

As remasters go, this is like a half way house rather than a true remaster. Maybe my expectations were set too high, although i wasn't expecting a 4K experience, I was expecting something more than what we have. The game is still great and all the above aside, I'm back enjoying one of my favorite games, so it's not all doom and gloom.

On the XBox ONE it looks stunning and I doubt the PS 4 is any different.

I notice all the things you've mentioned above, including that faces can look a bit crap in certain conditions.

Despite this overall it looks bright and brilliant and what really stands out is how steady and smooth the game plays now. So much so it shames other current gent titles.

It's quite noticeable the shift from 360 to XBox ONE.

I would expect you'd really notice it from PS 3 to PS 4 because unfortunately PS 3 did not seem to get the same level of support for the whole experience.
