Mayu's Animation Replacer? o.O

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:45 pm

Hi, sorry to ask about this, I know there's other topics (I've read them, in fact, and they make 0 sense!)

I like to use DMC Stylish (non specialanims version), Stylish Jump (non special again), and Woman's Move More Feminine Walk Forward (I should mention that this one is packaged in a specialanims folder by default). Woman's Move has always given me trouble. I mod the game obsessively so I often break it and have to reinstall from scratch, and I always, ALWAYS have to fight with Woman's Move to get it to work. The directions are very vague and in broken English so that's part of the problem. The other part is I'm a noob. I do, however, use Wrye Bash basic functions and bashed patch, BOSS, OBMM, etc. I have TES4Edit but I only know how to automatically clean mods in it and nothing else.

Now as for my question. How the hell do you use Mayu Animation Replacer? I'm so confused. I got scared and uninstalled it, and now when I reinstall via OBMM it doesn't give me any options or ask me anything. It definitely doesn't seem to do anything when I load it after my animation mods. The game just ignores it. NPCs still do the DMC attack moves, and even MALE NPCs do the more feminine woman's move walk. :(

Does anyone know about animations? If I have to do something in the CS I'm willing to do it, I just need to know what it is. How in the heck do I get this stuff to work right? Argh! Thanks in advance<3

Strange, I've never had a problem with Woman's Move. I'd suggest using the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38709 and either install using OBMM, or as I did, convert it back into an archive and use BAIN. Either way, I've never had a problem with it.

Mayu Animation Replacer would only get vanilla npc. If playing heavily modded with any mod that add any new npc, one must use the Bash Patch from Wrye Bash.

Wow, fast replies. Thank you so much Neph, I'll try it. And to Qawsed, I didn't add new NPCs or anything. I was referring to me attacking guards and them hitting me back in DMC style.

edit - Yayyyyy that totally worked! I don't know how I didn't find this before. :D

What you could do is install the animation replacer in the default folder and make sure the Mayu's project folder remains as vanilla if you want to only use the animation for yourself. That way you don't need a special anime folder or anything because MAO will take care of the rest.

Is that to say that you can play ANY animations in the meshes/characters/male_ folder... (which, I believe, would ordinarily apply them to all NPCs and yourself) .. as long as you have MAO installed?

Sorry, I'm just not getting it completely. I promise I read the readme, it's REALLy confusing to me though. :/

You could put it that way.... yep. If you open up the vanilla animation folder from Mayu's Projects, all the vanilla animations are there.  As long as you keep it that way, NPCs will use those animations. Hmm not sure about the NPCs added by mods though. I suppose that's where Wrye Bash comes in. Now if you want to replace the skeleton say for BBB or something you would need the compatible skeleton for yourself and vanilla NPCs otherwise you'll see a graphical glitch that you don't want to see  something like this...http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28235.
