MCA interview -- not strictly about Fallout

If only this guy was the owner of the Fallout Franchise -- he's got so much insight and talent that it really [censored] irritates me that he doesn't get to make the games he wants to strictly as he wants to -- and more over, a Fallout game that way. :sadvaultboy:

Well, maybe if Obsidian are contracted again he'll be the lead project director. ;) (or whatever it is that J.E Sawyer was on FNV.)

Here is something I noticed may be a clue to it or something.

=====================

As far as the public knows, New Vegas marks the end of your involvement with the Fallout franchise in the near future. How do you feel about that?

Sad, but hey, it’s happened to me before with Fallout at Black Isle, and this time, it goes out with a bang in Lonesome Road… if you want. It’s nice to be able to put down the punctuation mark at the end.

MCA has said previously that one of his personal workrelated desires is to lead a Fallout game. I'd so want to play that game. Not to undermine J.E. Sawyer, he did a great job with what he was given (although, I do believe he could've done even better with little more time), but if you compare answers given by Sawyer and MCA (in different interviews), you'll notice that - while both are professionals at this trade - MCA tends to have the "righter" and more defined answers as far as RPGs go.

I really do hope, Obsidian is given another go. There's no other developer in the industry that could do better ---- except fo maybe Piranha Bytes or CDProject RED, but even those are doubtful.

Here is something I noticed may be a clue to it or something.

Some conclusion to be had at the Lonesome Road. That's good to hear.

Agreed. :fallout: Although, you want to separate the first "A" from the word "APART", otherwise it's the opposite of what you actually want ----- unless you want Obsidian to stay away from Fallout.

I hope the part about fo nv being the end of his/Obsidian involvement with fo is not right.

I was hoping they would rotate every other game. There would be more fo games made, and everyone would get closer to what they want every other game.

It takes Bethesda too long to make games, because they have 2 major titles that are both extensive games.

Obsidian is the perfect company to make fo when Bethesda is working on TES.

I just hope that there is at least talk of doing that, but he just can t say.

I think you character is going to die in LR. I ve always thought that. Time will tell......

Glad you think that way. I hope Beth does too.

It's a Fallout game, I doubt a death (other than one option) is the solution -- rather than a tie up for all the previously untied notches (for what ever that could mean).

You're supposed to be able to complete the rest of the game afterwards, so a possible option, another would be living.

Even if Obsidian is not developing another Fallout game, Bethesda should create the scope of the game's story and quest content and then email it to Obsidian and contract them to write it. Particularly Chris Avellone. It would likely end up wonderfully. Honestly, I would be equally content with Bethesda collectively learning from their mistakes/triumphs as well as Obsidian's mistakes/triumphs.

Anyway, this is a good interview. And I like that LR hint.
