i think it would make more sense if the NCR disabled the planes for scrap, or, converted them into barracks. because lets face it, if these guys are descendants of us, maybe 1 in 100 would possibly know how to fly them and where would one get the fuel if it wasnt already at the airport?

just my two cents

Right. And the Enclave flying Vertibirds isn't a huge strech, but the NCR knowing how to fly jets is a bit hard for me to believe, especially if they plan on being effective with them. It's not like a car or an ATV or something where you can just spend an hour or two and it's easy.

Now take into account bomb runs while going 100's of miles per hour? Yeah, good luck re-learning all of that. I like the way you put it. It could be possible to retro-fit the plane and it's systems for battlefield use though. Take the guns out and mount them to some sort of wheeled cart. Maybe, with the right tech they could reprogram the targeting systems as well, seeing as we have turrets doing that already. It's not a strech.

Now take the missles and bombs into account. Use the right kind of launching system, and within a certain range, you could have some effectiveness. So, the NCR could use em. Just not in the most traditional sense.

its either that or they use them as kamikaze planes but thatd be a bit ridiculous also, considering how big planes were (unless all that was left over were small bi-planes, in which case filling them up with fuel for short distances and then parachuting out somehow wouldnt be that hard to imagine). the enclave having flying vehicles makes sense because theyre the Enclave, with access to pre-war technology and all

id at least like to see the NCR working on getting the planes flying, t would be nice to see them fly by the end of the game, maybe some air strikes or even para drops of equipment or paratroops.

(in broken steel the Tesla cannon was dropped into Adams air force base by parachute)
