Is McCready killshot perk bugged

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 8:38 am

After forcing myself to bear with McCready for his Killshot perk, which luckily didn′t take that long to get after I found out I could just save/reload and steal. I found out that I have a ridiculous headshot chance in V.A.T.S. I can headshot people a mile away with weapon and still have 95% to hit. With my critical gunfu sniper/cowboy fights get crazy easy when I use fully upgraded Kellog′s revolver in V.A.T.S.

I′m like the lone ranger on overdrive as crits fill up my Action points and I can shoot people in the head at 200 yards with 95% accuracy.

Is somebody else experiencing this?

Yes, it raises headshot accuracy in VATS by 2000% instead of the 20% that it's supposed to

Guess then I have to remove it via console until it gets fixed. No fun having a "Win button"

Yeah you can just steal, save then reload. Just like how with Preston and Codsworth you can build a weapons mod in front of them and save and reload, and each time Codsworth will love it and Preston will like it. But with Preston it takes so long it's not worth doing unless you can put up with an hour worth of changing a weapon's mod, saving and reloading. For Dance you can do the same but repaint your power armor instead.

Some pretty lame bugs in the game that can be exploited. Especially since McCready, Preston and Dance have the best perks.

I agree! I'm at level 60 and I think by now my character should be able to pull off head shots no problem. It's fun to watch the bullet chase cam run for a few hundred yards and then exploding some raiders head. I hate (without the perk) when you vats someone in the head from like 8 feet away, and your character completely misses. It's like really?!

P.S. Op, if you search there are already multiple threads on this topic.

The bugged perk basically turns the game into what F1/2/3 were once you pumped your skill up high. Aimed shot to head/eyes, splatter, repeat. Of course, Fo4 doesn't have content balanced around that, so it ends up making combat pretty boring. I modded the perk to 20% and it's still an awesome perk, but I can't land half a dozen headshots in a seconds from miles away so the enemies get a chance to mount a response. I like having some non-VATS time as well.
