Your life has whatever meaning you give it. Enjoy it and make the most of it! It's the only one you'll have. Unless you think that you get a couple of tries at it, in which case, be especially daring - you'll get a do over anyways.

meaning of life? does it really matter if there is any preconceived meaning, you have a life to live and it would be a shame to waste it and find out you don't get another chance to experience all the good things your chance to live has to offer

The meaning of life (on a one-person/animal/being-level) is to breed and produce offspring to carry on your genes, if you ask me. :shrug: On a bigger scale (all life in general), I don't think there is a meaning. Why can't stuff just happen without being meaningful? Why is that a bad thing?

This to me is just existing. I exist to reproduce. Living is something else entirely. Live for experiences. Live to know life, death, happiness, sadness, love, hate. Life means to teach us these things. To experience everything we possibly can in the time allotted to us.

I have come to ask myself this question quite a lot in the past few weeks, and my answer to this question is, "there is no meaning to life", and this has sent me into MANY spirals of depression.

Back to topic, what is the meaning of life to you?

To live it.

We do not allow religious discussion on the forums, and as such it is inappropriate to detail how ones religious beliefs inform their understanding of this question. It is not, however, inappropriate to say that their answer to this question comes from their religion, or from a divine source. While discussion can't stem from such assertions I don't want anyone to feel that they can't at least mention this.

Yeah. The answer to that question is inherently religious/philosophical. It's something everyone has to figure out for themselves: nobody can tell it to you. One day you'll just be walking down the road and POOFF! there it is! You'll suddenly feel all excited and think that you're the first person ever to figure out such a deep and profound idea. Then you'll walk smack into the lamppost that you would have noticed if you weren't knee-deep in metaphysics.

Hmm, an interesting question. What is the meaning of life? I suppose biologically its to breed and support children. thinking deeper i suppose it would be to make the world a little better before you die...or do your best

Life has no meaning. That shouldn't send you into spirals of depression, that's reason for celebration. That means you just realized freedom. There is no objective overhanging meaning to your life, so nothing is demanded of you, nothing is expected of you, you are free to be whoever you want to be and to do whatever you want to do.

And you can still have a subjective purpose to your specific life. Whatever reason makes you get up in the morning. There's no wrong answer.

Totally good point, i felt the same way as OP at one point,and thought exactly like that, but now I think I'm finding the answers, i just need to figure out how to put them into words......God I sound like a religious leaflet
